NYFW: The Hair from Monique Lhuillier.

At the Monique Lhuillier show at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week #NYFW, the hair was beautiful. Lead by Eugene Souleiman for ghd, his inspiration was the dry, crisp fabrics, straw braiding techniques, basket patterns and wave prints that evoke thoughts of tropical vacations entrenched in relaxation, glamour and luxury.

Since this girl is all about heading from the beach to cocktails at sunset, an easy, relaxed chignon was the perfect compliment to the summer-inspired collection.

First, the ghd IV styler was used to straighten the hair. Then, ghd sea spray was applied around the roots and blown out with a diffuser to create a texture-laden base. Next, the model’s hair was finger brushed away from the face, gathered into a pony and half-twisted up. Then, the hair was twisted back around and secured into place, leaving the ends loose. To create a wind-swept look, Eugene and the Directive Team applied ghd sea spray to their hands and lightly roughed up the sides and front of the hair with their palms. Finally, a fine mist of ghd ultimate hairspray was applied to ensure that the look stayed put… The result? Summer-inspired perfection!

NYFW: Dashing Diva.

The dedicated Dashing Diva nail team has been out this week providing manicures and pedicures for the models at the Liz McClean, Erin Fetherston and Tony Cohen shows.

Next up, Dashing Diva will be doing the nails for the Zac Posen show, scheduled for this Friday at noon.

The Liz McClean stylist chose the popular sheer pink “Sheerly Shirely” polish for manicures.  Tony Cohen decided on a delicate light creamy brown polish “Chocolate Charlotte” for nails and the “Sheerly Shirely” for toes.  For the Erin Fetherston show, they chose “Dizzy Pinky Lizzy” a sheer pink polish for manicures and pedicures.

NYFW: Tracy Reese.

Sunday's Tracy Reese S/S '09 showing at New York Fashion Week #NYFW was beautiful. I love how her line is totally wearable, mostly light and airy. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

The hair was simple, all swept up and back from the face in a messy bun. The hair seemed very easy to do and is perfect for a Summer look. The makeup, done by one of my favorite makeup artists Mally Roncal from Mally Beauty, was very peachy/apricot, shimmery and applied with a heavy hand. Think pretty... with an edge. It looked soft and beautiful on the paler models.
