A NEW Hair Care Line from AVEENO & a Chance for You to Get it Here First!

I am sure you have all seen and heard about how amazing AVEENO products are. But I bet you didn't know that they are about to introduce a revolutionary new hair care line.

To celebrate the launch of this new line (which won't be in stores until April), AVEENO NOURISH+ Hair Care Collection sponsored the glam.com VIP Touch Up Lounge at the Leeza Gibbons Oscar party. How awesome is that? If you were watching any of the Oscar live blogging right here on Beautiful Makeup Search, then you might have caught this. At the party, they even had a celebrity hairstylist speak to stars about their red-carpet Oscar beauty regime.

AVEENO NOURISH+ is a revolutionary hair care line from AVEENO because it combines nature + science to nourish damaged hair back to life in just three washes. Can you imagine? Un-do YEARS of over processing in just a few days? WOW!

AVEENO’s exclusive Nourishing Wheat Complex has a positive electrical charge, which attracts to the negatively charged damaged parts of the hair follicle. When the complex is attracted to the damaged areas, it delivers the right amount of proteins needed to help moisturize and repair dry and damaged hair. All in a bottle.

The complete line up will contain NOURISH + MOISTURIZE Shampoo and Conditioner, NOURISH + REVITALIZE Shampoo and Conditioner, NOURISH + VOLUMIZE Shampoo and Conditioner, NOURISH + SOOTHE Shampoo and NOURISH +Condition Leave-In Treatment.

I cannot wait to try these for myself. How about you? As I said, these products will not be on shelves until April, but as this is a first for AVEENO (it is their first foray into hair care) they are offering you the chance to be among one of the first to try out the system. One winner will receive an AVEENO NOURISH+ Shampoo, Conditioner and a Leave-In Treatment.

A Lesson on Razor Bumps.

Yuck - the unsightly razor bumps left behind from hair removal in the bikini area. What are they exactly? I turned to Aveeno.com for some answers.

If you notice what looks like pimples, bumps or in-grown hairs on the areas where you shave, you may have "razor bumps". Doctors call this condition Pseudofolliculitis barbae , or PFB. PFB is most common in African American men and others with coarse or curly hair. It's less common in women, but it does occur. PFB is most common on the face and neck where hair is shaved or plucked. But it can also occur in the underarm and pubic areas as well as on the chest, legs or back.

What happens to cause these "razor bumps" is that shaving sharpens the ends of the hair, making it easier for the hairs to curve back into the skin. Stretching the skin while shaving can cause the newly cut hair to retract into the hair follicle. The bumps that you see are caused by skin irritation and inflammation where the hair has re-entered the skin.

There are several things you can do to help minimize razor bumps while shaving. Some doctors recommend using only electric shavers which don't give quite as close a shave, whereas double or triple-edged razors give extra-close shaves that may make the hair more apt to re-enter the skin. If you do use a blade, wash with a mild cleanser and warm water before shaving. This will help soften the hairs and help prevent a sharp edge that can enter the skin after shaving. Massaging the area to be shaved with a warm washcloth can help free the hairs and make them easier to cut. Avoid stretching the skin while shaving and shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize irritation.
