A Sample Stuffed Safari Bag from Beauty.com.

We all like free beauty products and GWP items are some of my faves. Especially those from Beauty.com!

Just in time for the holidays, Beauty.com is partnering with famed designer Issa London (the fab designer who created Kate Middleton's blue dress that she wore to announce her engagement) to offer the new “Safari Bag". Just visit Beauty.com/Issa and spend $100 to receive this exclusive gift valued at more than $175. The zip-top coated canvas cosmetic bag is sturdy and spacious with an adorable elephant print design.

The Safari Bag epitomizes our effortlessly chic vibe at Issa,” says designer and creative director Danielle Helayel. “We used a trademark print so our little elephants, who usually march over Issa dresses, have now put their stamp on these easy, waterproof beauty bags. They’re perfect to slip your bikini into, for storing everyday essentials in your handbag or to brighten up your makeup shelf.”

The bag is larger that you would expect from the picture.  It can easily hold all of your makeup and skin care for a weekend or holiday trip. I mean, it fit all of those samples in it plus there was room left for more.

Of course, you want to know about the 15 samples this beauty comes with. They are good ones! Also in the bag is a card for $5 toward future purchases at Beauty.com and a voucher for $20 off the purchase of sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut® Store on Beauty.com:

Snowtober Pictures and Updates.

There is nothing beautiful about this, as the major snowstorm that hit the Northeastern United States on October 30, 2011 hit us hard.

I am writing this from a makeshift parking lot about 45 minutes from my home where I have some 3G service.  We are actually here getting gas, and we have about an hour+ wait. We are told we will have no power for 10 - 14 days.  On day five now; this is not pretty.

This picture looks normal for a Massachusetts snowstorm, perhaps.  But this much snow on October 30th? That is when bad things happen.

Trees are down, snapped in half, all over my front and back yard and through a window and skylights in my home.  Driving through neighborhoods, we feel lucky.  We are alive and safe. We will repair our house.

Trying to stay warm at night and get in a hot shower every few days has become like a scavenger hunt to find heat and warmth.  I have a jar of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream with me and an EOS Lip Balm Sphere.  Beside that, I forget what makeup looks like. On Sunday, thinking it wouldn't be so bad with a tiny bit of hot water left to quickly bathe, after air drying my hair I held my curling iron over the fire and was able to curl my hair.  It hasn't mattered much since though.  Life priorities have changed to finding a hot meal, shower (as I said) and gas.

If I can get some power and internet soon, I hope to get back to the business of beauty. Until then, take care and stay warm.

Halloween Beauty Tips, Tricks and Products.

Just because I am beyond trick or treating age doesn't mean I'm not up for some holiday fun.  I don't really have anything planned, but as my teenaged kids are dressing up for different parties, I have come across some beauty products that are perfect for creating different looks for Halloween. I even have some fun How-To's to share, just in case you need a little inspiration.

First, MAKE UP FOR EVER has a powder called Fluo Night ($31), a translucent glow in the dark blacklight pigment that is sure to liven up any costume.

This universal powder can be combined with any cream, powder or gel based product to create a glow anywhere you want it.  How cool to add it to your eyeliner or over your lipsticks to really come alive in the right light.

In case you are looking to create a sexy dracula look like the one below, be sure to check out the step-by-step MUFE has created for us.

FLIRT! has put together some fun Halloween looks that will give you some inspiration.  Just a few products used the right way can transform your whole look. My favorite is the 1920's flapper, and it is a look that could be easily done as described:

EYES:
Start by applying an eyeshadow base, such as DREAMY EYES™ Eyeshadow in Sugar Daddy, all over lid from lashline to browbone. To achieve the simple, pretty cat eye, use OPENING LINE™ Liquid Eyeliner in Ebony Edge. Beginning from the inner corner of the upper lid, apply a line that gets thicker and angled slightly upward as you approach the outer corner of your lid. Swoop the line slightly up past the outer corner of the eye. Then, beginning at the center of the eye, apply liquid eyeliner to the lower lid until it meets the eyeliner on the upper lid. Finish the look with ALL THAT LASH™ Volumizing Mascara in Kickin’ Black.

CHEEK:
Dust apples of cheeks with PEEK-A-BLUSH™ Sheer Powder Cheek Color in Dapple Apple.

LIP:
Use HIGH WATTAGE™ Intense and Creamy Lipcolor in Ace for a bold lip. For a sheerer, high-sheen pout, try GLAMOURAZZI™ Extreme Lip Lacquer in Red Hottie.

Complete the look by adding a faux beauty mark anywhere on the face with OPENING LINE™ Liquid Eyeliner in Ebony Edge.

If you just want to add a bit of Halloween, simply change up your nails for the weekend. It can be done in about 10 minutes at home with these Incoco Halloween Nail Strips. I am loving the Black Magic spider-web design and the fun Mischief Night design for a quick change.

The strips are so easy to use over your nails.  Simply find the strip that is closest to the size of your nail, remove the film, peel the polish off the strip, pull the guide off, place over your nail, smooth it out and then file away the excess.  I literally did both hands in under ten minutes.

Get inspired with MAC and Snooki with their second annual Halloween Face-Off.  It really gives me some great ideas and a few tricks learned from the artists themselves. There are two videos that are a must-see.  Don't forget to vote for your fave too and be entered into their fab contest to go to Las Vegas.

Are you dressing up for Halloween or leaving it to the kids this year?
