Perfecting My Fast and Easy Holiday Hair Look.

It’s that time of year again, can you believe it? The holiday season has officially begun! My calendar is already starting to fill up with holiday parties and I've been perfecting my fast and easy holiday hair look. As you begin prepping yours, keep in mind that CVS/pharmacy has the hair care products you need to create your perfect holiday hair look. If you stop into a store now through 12/5, you’ll save on some of your favorite hair care products, like TRESemme, Dove and Suave too — score! These products have helped me to get my fast and easy holiday hair look.

Products to Perfect a Fast + Easy Holiday Hair Look

TRESemme Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner

As soon as it turns colder out, my hair needs an infusion of moisture, just as my body does. I've been using this Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner to start my hair care routine. This duo locks in moisturize just where my hair needs it most. They contain an advanced moisturizing system with Vitamin E so the products help to restore vibrancy to my tresses and make my dry damaged hair soft all without weighing it down.

TRESemme Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner

Suave Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

I've talked about this great product before and it is essential in my hairstyling routine. It adds that extra oomph and texture into my hair that simply makes it easier to style. It really helps to create a loose textured, not so perfect look that lasts up to 24 hours.

Suave Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

TRESemme TRES Two Hair Spray

I've mentioned how much I like TRESemme Hair Sprays, but this one was new to me and I'm really like how fast it works to hold my holiday hair look into place! This hair spray leaves no stiffness or stickiness, just flexible hold yet it is firm and long-lasting.

TRESemme TRES Two Hair Spray

My fast and easy holiday hair look is easy with a quick shampoo and condition with the Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner. After my hair is about 50% air dry, I spritz on the Suave Texturizing Sea Salt Spray and finish with a blowout where I bend the ends of my hair under with a large round brush. The Sea Salt Spray helps to hold this curl in place. After blowing dry, I give my hair another quick mist of the Sea Salt Spray. I then take a large barrel curling iron (I think mine is 1 1/4") and curl only the few top layers of my hair all around my head. I take my fingers and loosen the curls with my fingers. If I want to loosen them more, I spray some of the Sea Salt Spray onto my hands and then run my fingers through my hair. To make my look different for the holidays thinking I'd be going to a party or special event, I took my side bangs and pushed them forward and added volume to my roots. I held it in place with a quick mist of the TRES Two Hair Spray.

Teri Cosenzi

I'm Teri, your resident beauty expert. While I'm not playing with beauty products, painting my nails or shopping for makeup with my daughter who loves trying products with me, you will probably find me sneaking off to Florida with my husband of over 25 years or cheering on one of my three sons. I like baking, re-decorating, drinking tea, fussing with my flowers and facials.

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

I'm always looking for the best mascara so when my sister picked up the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara on our recent CVS shopping trip I knew I had to try it for myself. You see, Cindi immediately put on this mascara following our drugstore haul and her lashes were transformed. I had to put this primer and mascara to the test for myself.

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara is just that: a primer and mascara in one package.

On one end of the tube there is a mascara primer and this is no ordinary primer. This mascara primer is a super-volumizing base that helps to build dramatic volume instantly onto each lash. It's lightweight so it doesn't weight down the lash. It simply creates volume as it lays down a smooth and even base to maximize the effects of the mascara. It's white so you can see exactly where you apply it.

On the other end is the mascara. This mascara is fiber-infused and it adheres right onto the primer/lashes. It applies easily with the curved brush. It seems to lift my lashes and add a ton of volume to them along with dramatic length. Because of the primer, I only need to apply two coats of mascara.

Before applying the mascara, I let the primer dry for about a minute. I'm not sure if this is recommended, but after trying to apply when the primer was too wet, I didn't feel like my results were as good.

I did not experience any clumping or flaking with Voluminous Superstar Mascara but I did have a little bit of smudging with the regular mascara toward the end of the day. I wasn't sure if this was due to my concealer and the mascara not playing nice so I picked up the waterproof version and I didn't experience any issue of smudging. I really love the length and volume I get so the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara Waterproof it is for me.

Buy L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara Waterproof for about $10.99 at CVS or your favorite mass retailer.

Beauty Shopping with my BFF at CVS/pharmacy.

Don't you just love sharing beauty secrets with your best friend? I feel that way about you guys — I guess that is one reason I started Beautiful Makeup Search. From way back when, I've been sharing beauty secrets, tips and product recommendations with my BFF, who just so happens to be my sister Cindi. Cindi always asks me for a "yay or nay?" before buying any beauty product and we often go beauty shopping together because it's just easier. Over the weekend we went on a little beauty shopping spree at one of our favorite places to shop for beauty; we went beauty shopping at CVS/pharmacy.

$100 Drugstore Beauty Haul: See how much you can get at CVS when shopping with coupons and ExtraBucks for just $100.

I live in a small suburb but am lucky enough to have two CVS/pharmacy stores in my town. Both of these stores have fabulous beauty sections that are entirely different from each other so all of my drugstore beauty needs are covered. I know that by shopping for beauty at CVS/pharmacy I have all the benefits of the Beauty Club loyalty program that helps its 18 million+ members save BIG on beauty everyday. Cindi and I went into CVS with $100 and armed with a bunch of coupons including a 20% of shopping pass and some ExtraBucks® Rewards that we had each saved. The plan was that we would each spend about $50 (after coupons) and look for some new beauty products and pick up a few favorites too.

First up was the makeup aisle, of course. There are so many great new fall beauty products at CVS/pharmacy. Plus, CVS/pharmacy has NYX and e.l.f. in store now too. Woo!

Beauty shopping at CVS/pharmacy

Cindi took f-o-r-e-v-e-r picking out makeup. I helped her pick out a few great makeup items that were new to her including:

Maybelline The Nudes palette
L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor
e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick
NYX Mineral Matte Finishing Power
L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray

I was looking for a few things but wasn't sure of anything specific. I just broke my eyelash curler, so I needed to look for a new one and I needed a liquid eyeliner so the search was on for a few to try. Here are the makeup items I decided on:

Revlon Liquid Liner
L'Oréal Voluminous Superstar Liquid Eyeliner
L'Oréal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick
e.l.f. Eyelash Curler

The only thing we both knew we wanted was a new mascara. Cindi picked up the new L'Oreal Voluminous Super Star Mascara (she put it on as soon as we got back to my house and she LOVES it!) and I picked up Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara (review soon).

CVS Beauty Shopping

CVS/pharmacy is also the perfect place to stock up on regular beauty items like haircare and skincare products so that is what Cindi and I did as well. We each have our regular favorite beauty items that we both needed so that is what we decided to stock up on to complete our $100 shopping spree. These items were:

Nivea Lip Butter
Dove Dry Shampoo
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash
Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes
Suave Blow Dry Spray
Vaseline Lip Therapy

Beauty Shopping at CVS/pharmacy

I can't believe we got so many beauty products for $100! I swear I could win at a price challenge each and every time because our grand total after discounts was $100.48. We got SO much!

Drugstore beauty haul!

We saved so much because Cindi and I are both members of the CVS Beauty Club and had our ExtraBucks® Rewards to spend.

The CVS Beauty Club has a lot of great perks; you have to sign up if you are not already a member! CVS Beauty Club members receive incredible beauty benefits and savings all year long just by shopping for beauty products at CVS/pharmacy, which include:

  • $5 ExtraBucks® Rewards for every $50 spent on qualifying beauty products. This includes cosmetics, skincare, haircare, hair appliances, hair accessories, hair color and fragrance.
  • 10% off beauty shopping pass upon sign up
  • $3 ExtraBucks® Rewards on your birthday

I'd love to know how much you save on your beauty shopping at CVS/pharmacy too.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with CVS/pharmacy. I was provided a gift card to shop and compensated to write a post about CVS Beauty Club, but as always, all opinions are my own.
