Are you Game for a Mystery?

If the packaging for Lancôme's latest Fall Collection doesn't catch your eye, then I don't know what will!

Lancôme International Artistic Director has outdone herself in creating Mystery Game - the title for this year's Fall Collection. Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express was the inspiration for the collection. The entire collection of extraordinary, luxuriously packaged items definitely elude to the intrigue of a glamorous past and the allure of absolute femininity.

The Mystery Game products:
Destiny Cube - $50
Inspired by an 18th century Chinese secret box Gucci received as a gift, this multi-faceted cube holds eye shadow on one side and lipstick and gloss on the other. Throw it on the table as you would a pair of dice and let the symbols and words set the mood of your day: coquette, mysterious, jealous, a star, an angel, the Lancôme rose…. Available in two limited-edition color palettes: Charisma (light pink lip products with brown and violet shadows) and Deep Fascination (red and burgundy lip products with light green and pale pink shadows).

Baume Baiser – Hydrating Pillow Balm / Sensual Lip Massage - $25
Unique and alluring, all of your friends will be trying to guess what this mysterious product is. Kiss and tell them that it is the latest way to soften and moisturize your lips. Referred to as a “bubble balm” by Gucci, the cushiony applicator is firm and bouncy like a pillow. Massage it into lips to condition them before lipstick application or wear it alone to deposit a light, shimmery film for kissable pouts, with a wonderful coconut milk fragrance. Available in one limited edition color, Rose Marshmallow.

Le Crayon Khôl – Oriental Duo - $25
There’s something baroque and sophisticated about this unique eye pencil. Two liners in one, this “chop stick”-shaped khôl is meant to feel like a precious object, such as an antique cigarette holder or an ornate hair ornament. Pair with very nude and luminous skin and create graphic lines in two color combinations: Noir Captive (Black and Gold) and Brun Seductive (Brown and Gold).

Le Magnetique – Vernis Design Etoile / Star Design Nail Lacquer - $17
Stars will align when you use this innovative, mystifying nail polish. Attached to the bottom of the bottle, you will find an inconspicuous magnet. After applying the second coat of lacquer comprised of magnetic properties and pigments, sweep the magnet across the polish before it dries and a special design will appear. Available in one limited edition color, Bordeaux Esmée.

The collection was made available in September, and I would run out to your Lancôme counter or their website to get the pieces you want as soon as you can. I cannot imagine that these beauties will not sell out. And while you are there, see if you can get your hands on P.S. Kiss (which is still available online - I just ordered mine)!

Keeping it Clean at Christopher Kane.

lancome_ck_2.jpgThe extraordinary Gucci Westman, artistic director for Lancôme, is busy once again. She is making up the models over in London for the London edition of Fashion Week.

This week she has worked on the fresh faces for the Christopher Kane show.  And such fresh faces they are.  The look they were going for was natural, Sissy Spacek-like.

Now, going natural is difficult when doing makeup. It is not just a plain, no-makeup face. It takes time, the right makeup palette, and a lot of blending.

Gucci used the following Lancôme products to create the looks seen above:
Aqua Fusion Creme or Aqua Fusion Tinted Moisturizer
Primordiale Optimum Lip or Color Design Blush in Pret A Plum
Magique Blush in Cinnamon Glaze
Color Design Eye Shadow in Click

I love the barely-there rose colored lip!

Gucci Westman at Work!

The beautiful and wonderfully talented Gucci Westman, artistic director for Lancome, has been quite busy the last few days of fashion week. She takes the lead and instructs her makeup team how to polish the models to perfection befoer they make their way to the catwalk.

One of my favorite designers, Behnaz Sarafpour, took on the look of organic luxury for the Spring/Summer 08 season. It was up to Gucci to recreate this look to go with the fabulous cotton designs.

Gucci decides on a healthy, summer, breezy look. Not just minimal, but a soft, sexy look. It looks gorgeous on the model, doesn't it?

Here is what Gucci used to create this makeup look, all products are from Lancome, of course.

Artliner in Noir
Juicy Tube in  Pure
Star Bronzer in Bronze Dore
Cils Design Pro Mascara (on the top, inner lashes only)
Magique Blush in Subtle Fluff and Peach Melba
Le Crayon Poudre in Natural Blonde (used on the lips)
