Mascara Monday: Mark Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara.

Mark has taken their core mascara and transformed it from their hook-up size to a full size (yay!) mascara in this new Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara. So basically, it is the same formula, in a new larger, sleek, slender tube.

Mark Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara

Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara is made with a thick formula that adheres to lashes without clumping. It takes a good two tow three coats to get the length and definition that I like. It is nice for an everyday mascara or for those who want that kind of look. It does add a bit of volume, but you're not going to get intense drama with this one, so it is daytime and office safe. It wears all day with nor clumpy, flaking or smudging. It rinsing away with ease.

The wand itself is very light and slender to hold. The brush is on the longer and slender side itself too. It is very easy to control and handle, especially on the inner and outer corners and lower lashes, which is a plus.

Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara comes in three shades:

  • Blackest Black - a very deep, dark black
  • Brown Black - deep dark brown
  • Violet - deep blue/purple

Shop for Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara at meetmark.com or through your independent mark rep. Each mascara retails for $11.00.

Mascara Monday: Too Faced Better Than False Lashes.

I was very intrigued by this new lash system from Too Faced called Better Than False Lashes. Of course, it promises big bold lashes, but in a different way as it uses actual lashes fibers in a multi-step system. I know there are a few fiber lash systems out there, and having never tried any makes this process new to me.

You get two tubes, which make up the 3 steps. One tube is the first step, called the Activating Base and Top Coat. The next tube is the Nylon Lash Fibers. You simply apply the base coat to the lashes, followed by the nylon fiber step, and then finish with another coat of the first product, which is now used as a top coat.

Basically, the first step is a mascara. Used alone, it gives nice length, separation and volume to the lashes. The next step, which I was nervous about because I wear contact lenses, is the fiber application. I was worried that I would get all these little fibers flying into my eyes, but I did not. The nylon fibers clung to the base coat and didn't budge. Phew!  I immediately noticed that I had a lot more lash to build upon, which was apparent when I applied the first product again, now the top coat. My lashes tripled in volume and even more length was added. I was so impressed!

For everyday, depending on the mascara, I use one to two coats. For an all out smokey eye look or night-time eye, I almost always use three coats of mascara and this system takes no more time than that. The difference is the end result when using Too Faced Better Than False Lashes because my lashes are the biggest and boldest that they have ever been without wearing actual falsies.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes sells for $35.00 and is available right now at Sephora.

Mascara Monday: L’OrΓ©al Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara.

I've been a long time fan of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara line. For big, bold, look at me lashes, it never fails. The brand is launching a new one (out next week), and I am super excited about this one. Meet L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara.

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

The name butterfly is no coincidence. It is named specifically for the Butterfly Brush™, a breakthrough in brushes, in my opinion. This asymmetrical, ergonomic, wing-tip brush with flexible arches is designed to lift the outer corner lashes for a flared effect. The uniquely-shaped brush features tightly packed bristles that work to "trap" lashes and extend them outward from corner to corner.

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

The formula is super silky and packed with fibers. Each Voluminous Butterfly Mascara includes 1.2MM fibers, actually, that instantly coats lashes in a soft, delicate veil for longer looking lashes with up to a whopping 6X the volume.

I am loving this mascara. I use the curved side for upper lashes, but prefer the flat side for the lower. One coat is great for everyday, and I definitely notice more definition with this than with any of the other Voluminous Mascaras I have used. I don't necessarily notice any special flaring in the corner, but longer-thicker, better looking lashes, overall for sure. I do notice a lot of lift, and that really opens the eye. It looks especially great when paring it with a deep black liner on the upper water line. This really opens my eyes. If I really want to have a bold look, then I apply two to three coats and am wowed each time.

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara will be available in your favorite drugstore and mass retailer, in October for $8.99. Choose from Black, Blackest Black or Black Brown. I am using Black.
