In case you have never heard of Melvita products, let me take a few to introduce you.
Melvita is a natural beauty brand that was founded in the Ardèche, France by beekeeper and biologist Bernard Chevilliat in 1983. The name Melvita, which means “honey and life” in Latin, has always been a passionate advocate for the complete organic lifestyle. Each of Melvita’s products carries the prestigious ECOCERT certification, certifying its products are organic and ecological, including packaging and company practices. One of their more popular lines is the PROSUN range of products.
I tested out a few of the products and wanted to tell you about the one that I have ben using everyday since I tried it. It is their Tanning Preparation Milk.
Tanning Preparation Milk is designed to help promotes gradual, healthy tanning in and out of the sun. It is a natural self-tanner of sorts, but does not contain the more popular active ingredient DHA, typically found in self-tanning products. This product uses natural ingredients such as Carob extract, Coconut oil, and Buriti oil to help deveop a very light, natural golden color to the skin, and keeps it conditioned for when you do go in the sun (where you will wear an added sunscreen, right?).
This lightweight cream, which is not as fluid as a normal milk type product, but very light, easily glides on my skin condition to prepare it, as I said. I use it on my legs faithfully. The Carob Extract reactivates the protective keratin of the skin, while Coconut Oil moisturizes and softens skin to create a uniform surface ideal for tanning and gives my skin a very subtle golden glow after using for five or six days in a row. The Buriti Oil provides added natural protection, so that when you do go in the sun, skin has more of a ntural protection factor to it.
Tanning Preparation Milk sells for $28.00. Melvita PROSUN is now available in the United States at Melvita retail stores in Seattle, Washington, San Francisco, California and Newport Beach, California, as well as on usa.melvita.com and select online retailers including beauty.com and skinstore.com.
