4 Quick Tips for Healthy and Sexy Summer Hair.

Healthy hair is always in fashion says Riccardo Maggiore from the Riccardo Maggiore Salon. The summer months can be fun but at the same time can be a nightmare for your hair. The Vidal Sasson protégé believes if you follow the below four tips, your hair will look healthy, sexy, and definitely summer fun ready!

  1. GET A GOOD HAIRCUT: Split ends or porous hair can cause further damage due to its quick absorption of the sun’s rays, chlorine and salt water. For that reason, during summer months get your hair into excellent shape with a thorough haircut or trim. If hair is in very bad condition, you should consider a shock, reconditioning or hydrating treatment.
  2. SPF FOR THE HAIR: More people are realizing the importance of protecting not just your skin, but your hair from the sun as well.  While soaking up the sun, be sure to use hair products that provide some UV protection, otherwise you could wind up with really dry, broken strands at the end of the season.  Riccardo is also a big advocate of large floppy hats for the summer, which not only protect your hair from the sun, but your scalp too. Use sun specific products with a UV protectant, like Riccardo Maggiore Gel-Vitale Moisturizing Styling Gel, which contains sunscreen agents to protect hair from damaging UV rays.
  3. DRINK IT UP: Hair tends to be drier and more prone to breakage in the summer, so feed your thirsty strands with a deep conditioning treatment to help restore moisture and elasticity.
  4. EAT WELL:By including plenty of good sources of essential fatty acids in your diet you can give your hair back its strength and shine. By eating salmon, seeds, nuts, olives and avocados you can keep your hair beautiful and healthy.

Clamp Free Curls with Conair You Curl.

We all want gorgeous summer hair, and I found out one easy way to get it. With the use of this new tool from Conair, I get beautiful "clamp-free" curls. You heard me correctly. This is simply a cone-shaped barrel, with no clamp, that is used to create a softer, less structured curl. Take a look at Conair You Curl.

Instead of a regular curling iron in which the iron curls around your hair, you curl your hair around the iron. Simply wrap hair around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and then release.   The conical design allows the curls to start closer to the root, allowing more volume through the middle (the larger portion of the barrel) and the bottom will have a tighter curl (the smaller section of the barrel).  The effect is trendy, free-flowing spirals with no “clamp kinks.”  I will admit that it takes a few tries to get used to it, but once you do, look out. Your hair will be full of bouncy, beautiful, fresh out of the salon curls.

You Curl is also part of Conair's Infiniti line. That means it features tourmaline ceramic technology which offers more protection, reduces frizz, helps eliminate static, and leaves no damaging hot spots.

The Infiniti by Conair You Curl is available nationwide at mass market and drug store retailers, as well as at conairyoucurl.com for an average retail price of $49.99.  You can also find out more great info by “liking” Conair’s new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/conairhair

Dig In! L'Oreal EverPure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque.

Sure, I have a shelf full of hair products on the shelf in my beauty closet, but that didn't stop me from searching for something else. This morning, while browsing the hair care section at CVS, I looked for a deep conditioner for my overly dried tresses. Seeing as just I spent a small fortune on a full color and highlights at the salon, I needed something gentle.

Look what I found!

My favorite L'Oréal Paris EverPure hair products had a deep conditioning hair masque. Now, I knew this, right? Well, it must have slipped my mind, as I later found it at home in my beauty closet. Nevertheless, I picked up this tub of wonder for $7.99, and promptly put it to the test.

EverPure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque is for really dry, damaged hair, with it's very rich cream formula. It is sulfate-free, so it will not fade hair color or react in anyway with other hair treatments. It deeply conditioned my hair in just 10 minutes, leaving me look like I just spent a pretty penny on a jar of the much more expensive stuff, like the ones that still on my shelf.

At $7.99, this is a steal! L'Oréal Paris EverPure hair products are sold at drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide.
