Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara.

I'll be honest. I have not had the best of luck when it comes to Maybelline and their mascaras. While I tend to gravitate toward more luxury mascara, I also cannot deny my love for the drugstore likes of L'Oreal Voluminous or COVERGIRL LashBlast. I was anxious to give this new Volum' Express One by One Mascara a good 'ole try.

At first glance, the brush is similar, but different. It is made of a variety of lengths of rubber bristles, that taper on each end. What does this do? It actually helps to make application easier when defining each lash. It does define each lash, while plumping them up a bit, individually. I normally go for full on volume long lashes, so it is for those with either very full lashes to being with, or those wanting a defined, more natural look. For this I understand the One by One in the name, but not the Volum' Express, as I don't get what I normally expect in a volume formula.

The mascara does apply with ease and stays pliable, but almost too pliable. If I wore my glasses or touched my lashes while wearing, I did get a bit of flakes falling under my eyes.

All in all, this mascara is not bad, but it is not what I would call good for me either. I really wish I could have a better opinion of the Maybelline line of mascaras, but they just have not worked for me overall.

Volum' Express One by One Mascara is available in drugstores and mass retailers now for a suggested retail price of $8.15.

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara

Wimpy lashes, stand up and take notice. You look for volume and just can't seem to find the right formula? Look no more. This new Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara from Estée Lauder is for you.

What makes Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara extremely volumizing? It’s the synergy of the lightweight Extreme Bold Volume Formula™, a special blend of three customized lash building fibers, and the exclusive Extreme BrushComber™.

The Extreme BrushComber™ is a big brush in a new shape that gives you all the thickening of a brush with the definition of a comb. The brush holds more mascara, which means it will magnify and multiply lashes by delivering additional product and performance. The triangle cut is easy to use and reaches every corner of your lashes despite its big size.

The Extreme Bold Volume™ Formula is a new mousse-like formula contains a calculated blend of light-weight gels, polymers, waxes and pigments that create lightweight volume without clumping. A new blend of hybrid powders made of different sizes, spherical Silica and plates of Mica, maximizes volume to the extreme.

The Tri-blend Multiplying Fibers act like lash extensions as they fill in even the sparsest of lashes – to instantly magnify and multiply the look of lashes.

The results are amazing. My lashes are longer, thicker and more defined with volume, all while continuing to be flexible– never brittle.

Which shade are you? This mascara comes in four expressive shades of Extreme Black, Extreme Brown, Extreme Indigo and Extreme Violet. I stick with Black, so Extreme Black is for me.

Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara retails for $23.50 and is available right now at Estée Lauder counters nationwide and esteelauder.com.

M∙A∙C False Lashes Mascara.

When to comes to trends and eyelashes, the longer and fuller the better. New formulas are constantly introduced, but none that promise as much as this new mascara from M∙A∙C. A perfect way to bring in the new year and stay on trend with the eyelash envy you will create after trying this new False Lashes Mascara.

False Lashes was created to take nature further forward than ever before! The illusion of extensions, made real without anything but a vital NEW mega-multiplication formula, creating extremities of volume and curl for a dramatic end look, thickening for what we call the “look alive” eye – wide awake, wonderfully well rested, glamorously engorged – applied with the uniquely engineered double-lush brush for the ultimate lash evolution. Nature take note! This is not your mother's mascara.

First, the packaging is beautiful. The tube itself says something dramatic about the product, which I am loving. My lashes have a natural curl to them and most mascaras still need a little help in that department, so I usually do curl them - but not with False Lashes. Skipping a step is vital in a routine if it can pay off, and pay of, this mascara does. After one coat, my lashes are noticeably taut and lengthened, with their natural curl staying in place, but heightened a bit. The formula is a bit pliable at first, so I waited about 30 seconds between coats to eliminate any possibility of clumping, and the second coat was even more wow inspiring. My lashes seemed to go beyond lengths that I have seen them before. Like extensions of my own lashes, but with a nice weight to them, not spidery looking at all. Three coats was almost too much on me, but if your lashes are on the skimpier side, don't be afraid to apply more as you wish.

False Lashes will be available on December 26th and sell for $18.00, which is pricier than other M∙A∙C mascara offerings, but if it works, then it is worth it. Check it out for yourself at M∙A∙C counters and online at maccosmetics.com.
