5 Must Have Makeup Palettes

I cannot believe that this is the last Friday in February. How is this year flying by so fast already? Though I am on vacation, I have still been discovering some great new beauties. This week is all about the new makeup palettes that I have found recently. Palettes are where you get the most bang for your buck. With single products costing $20+, getting multiples in a palette, is often the best way to go.

1. NARS The Happening Palette - $65.00
This must have palette has it all - including the must have best selling Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer - plus four very wearable eye shadow colors. The shades include a sheer peach with gold shimmer, a shimmering taupe, boysenberry (a beautiful lilac) infused with gold, and a deep taupe brown infused with gold.

2. Laura Mercier Arabesque Baked Eye Color Palette - $48.00
Laura's baked eye shadows are some of the best. This beautiful new shadow palette contains five gorgeous spring shades that can be worn wet for more intense color, or dry for soft shading. The palette includes: Champagne, Sepia, Mink, Malt and Sterling.

3. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Collection - $36.00
For soft and smoky, sexy eyes, this collection of nine shadows cannot be beat. From a light and shimmering champagne to a super sexy shimmery gray, bedroom eye looks are endless. Too Faced shadows are very soft and silky, plus very long lasting. I have a few of the shadow palettes and am thrilled with this new addition to my collection.

4. Dior Sweet Chérie Pinks Eye & Lip Palette - $59.00
A spring pink look is easy with the eye and lip products in this gorgeous pink palette.  The four shadows in beautiful, soft shades of pink and gray pair nicely with the pink lip shades. For lips you get a lip balm to soften lips and use as a base, a lipstick and two lip glosses. It doesn't get any sweeter.

5. Bobbi Brown Bellini Lip & Eye Palette - $75.00
Bobbi thought of just about every eye look when she put together this beautiful palette. With ten shadows that range from a bare base shade, an almost black shade perfect for lining eyes, and everything in between, this one will get a lot of use. The four beautiful lip glosses complete any look you create. The shadows are super soft and range in textures from matte, to shimmery and intense.

This one product fills in lines AND conceals dark circles!

This new little beauty from Benefit first had me with the name - Fake Up - followed by Crease-Control. CREASE CONTROL! If only I had control over these creases in my face. Well, that is what Benefit set out to do with this new hydrating concealer.

You see this concealer is different. Very different. It is a concealer stick, surrounded by a very special "hydrating ring".

This ring is made up of Vitamin E and Apple Seed Extract. It actually looks and feels like a very silky lip balm with a concealer in the core. But that is not important. What it important is that this ring helps the concealer do its' job better by helping the concealer to seemingly float on skin and over lines, not settling into them as most concealers do! That is what I call crease control.

Fake Up instantly hides dark circles as it diffuses those creases (fine lines) for silky smooth, long-lasting coverage. It comes in three shades to suit most skin tones: Light, Medium and Dark. It doesn't get any easier.  I am using medium and it is a perfect match for my skin.

Fake Up Crease Control Hydrating Concealer will sell for $24.00 when it becomes available in March online at benefitcosmetics.com and wherever Benefit is sold.

21 Beautiful Braids.

It seems like everyone is wearing braids. With Braid Bars popping up everywhere, it is no doubt that braids are back - in a big way. From the very simple to intricate and very complicated, I am obsessed.

What I really love about braids, is that they can be done on all different lengths of hair. You can use a braid as an accent, holding back those bangs you are forever growing out, or as the complete style. I love combining a braid with a ponytail.

I have been turning to Pinterest (are you following me on Pinterest?) for my inspiration and have been experimenting. Some of these braids are self-explanatory and some require a bit of help. Luckily there are some images that are linked to easy tutorials.
