Get the Look: Naomi Watts at the 2013 Golden Globes.

I loved Naomi Watts updated sideswept bob that she showed off on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards.

Her hair was created by Hair Stylist Giannandrea Marongiu for Matrix.

Going into the night, both stylist Giannandrea Marongiu and Naomi Watts knew they wanted to create a classic look. He turned to old Hollywood greats, such as Carole Lombard, for inspiration, creating a faux, side-swept bob. Describing the look as “a bit more modern than old-Hollywood,” Giannandrea gently brushed out the curls for an updated take on a classic style.

STEP-BY-STEP:

STEP 1: Starting with wet hair, sprayed Matrix Total Results Blonde Care Flash Filler ($16, Available in February) evenly throughout the hair before blow drying in order to “enhance and bring out Naomi’s blonde color”

STEP 2: Applied Matrix Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer ($15) throughout the roots and partially down the length to create volume and all-night hold

STEP 3: Using a medium round brush, blow dried hair in sections to create soft fullness

STEP 4: Created a deep side part

STEP 5: Curled hair using a ½ inch curling iron, gently spraying Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray($15) on each section before curling to gently and softly hold the curls while also providing shine

STEP 6: Gently brushed out hair so waves were soft, feminine and modern

STEP 7: Put Matrix Design Pulse Mega Dust ($15) on a boar bristle brush and brushed through hair very gently in order to stretch the waves and give it texture

STEP 8: Taking a pea-size amount of Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment ($22), gently ran hands over hair to tame flyaways and provide a subtle, weightless shine

STEP 9: Tied rubber band halfway down the length and folded hair up and under in order to create a faux bob; pinned hair in place at the nape of the neck so pins did not show

STEP 10: Shaped the waves around the face in order to finish off the classic Hollywood look.

Celebrity nail expert Tracey Sutter created the look for Watts nails. Tracey used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Arm Candy to create a natural effect.

To get the look, Sutter filed down Naomi's nails very short before applying Sally Hansen's Cuticle Instant Remover.  Next, Sutter applied 2 coats of Sally Hansen's new Complete Salon Manicure Nail Color in Arm Candy - giving Watts just the right amount of color she wanted.

Get the Look: Nicole Richie at the 2013 Golden Globes.

Makeup Artist Beau Nelson did the makeup for Nicole Richie for the 2013 Golden Globe Awards.

Beau let Nicole’s embroidered pale blue Naeem Khan gown inspire her ethereal yet bold makeup look; metallic pale blue eye shadow and navy eyeliner, a bronzed glow and nudish/pink lips. Nelson wanted Richie’s makeup to reflect her style evolution - opting for a mature, retro glamour with bold color that is echoed in her own fashion and accessories lines. Beau described Nicole as having the personality and the look to “never let the makeup wear her.” All makeup was from Elizabeth Arden.

STEP-BY-STEP:

Step 1: Prep the face with Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Optimizing Skin Serum ($49.50) and lips with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant ($19.50) to allow for a more even makeup application

Step 2: Apply Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup in Toasty Beige ($36.50) on the face and under the eyes and tap in with the fingers to create a more natural, air-brushed look

Step 3: Dab the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Brow Shaper & Eyeliner in Soft Blonde ($22) in the eyebrows to add subtle definition and in the crease of the eye to add depth

Step 4: Apply the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Single in Sky ($18.50) over the eyelid with a flat eye shadow brush; press into the eyelid to get the boldest blue color and max coverage

Step 5: Compliment the blue shadow with the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Smoky Eyes Pencil in Midnight ($18) to line top and bottom lash lines; smudge slightly

Step 6: Curl lashes and apply two coats of Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Maximum Volume Black Mascara ($19.50). Saturate the base of the lashes with the most color to allow the ends to be feathery and natural looking.

Step 7: Sweep Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Bronzing Powder Duo ($34) over the face in a “reverse 3” motion – start at the forehead, move to the bottom of the cheekbone and down toward the jawline. Use a smaller brush to dab the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in Nectar ($24) slightly under the cheekbone and blend outwards.

Step 8: Apply the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Cameo ($22.50) with the fingers; dab for a natural, full-lipped look.

Here’s how Suave Professionals® Stylist, Jenny Cho, created Nicole Richie’s red carpet hair:

1.       Wash hair with New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, and then blow dry hair using a large paddle brush.

2.       Part hair on the side and begin curling with a one-inch barrel curling iron. Be sure to hold the curling barrel horizontal to the head.
3.       After curling each section, use bobby pins to hold in place.

4.       Blast hair all over with a hot dryer for 1-2 minutes to help set the curls.

5.       Remove the bobby pins, lightly brush the hair to soften curls and finish with Suave Professionals® Touchable Finish Super Hold Hairspray.

6.       Place 1-2 drops of the New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil in palms and rub hands together. Avoiding the roots, gently run hands over the surface of the hair to add a radiant shine.

7.       Place the Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil in your clutch for touchups on the go.

Get the Look: Zooey Deschanel at the 2013 Golden Globes.

Celebrity makeup artist Jorjee Douglas created Zooey Deschanel's look for the Golden Globes using all tarte.

Inspiration: "We always love to go very 60s with Zooey’s makeup, so we look at Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy for inspiration. We went with a modern Zooey version that made her blue eyes pop.”

Face:

  • She prepped Zooey's skin the night before with tarte's pure maracuja oil to keep her skin soft and glowy.
  • To even out her complexion and ensure her foundation lasted she applied BB tinted treatment primer in fair.
  • Next, she blended tarte’s maracuja miracle 12-hr foundation to add extra radiance to her complexion. To conceal any uneven skin she used tarte’s maracuja creaseless concealer underneath her eyes.
  • She added a pop of color with tarte's Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in frisky to the apples of her cheeks.
  • For a touch of shimmer, she applied maracuja blush & glow brightening lumiziner and cheek tint in candlelight to the tops of her cheekbones and set her t-zone with a light dusting of Amazonian clay finishing powder.

Eyes:

  • For a strong and defined brow, she used a mixture of tarte's Amazonian clay waterproof brow pencil in taupe and medium brown.
  • To make Zooey’s blue eyes pop, she started by blending the bronze shadows from tarte's beauty & the box Amazonian clay eyeshadow quad in “in the buff” all over her lids.
  • To create a cat-eye shape, she drew tarte's multiplEYE lash enhancing liquid liner over her top lashline, with a dip at the outer corner.
  • Inspired by Twiggy's lashes, she painted on tiny lashes underneath her bottom lashes with the precise tip of multiplEYE lash enhancing liquid liner.
  • She finished by applying two coats of lights, camera, lashes! 4-in-1 mascara to add major volume and drama to her lashes.

Lips:

  • Jorjee patted tarte's glamazon pure performance 12-hour lipstick in bold over Zooey’s lips with her fingers to create a light stain and then went over it with LipSurgence lip luster in delighted to add extra shine.
