INSPIRATION: Margot really wanted a clean minimal makeup look to complement her chic Gucci gown. She wanted a very clean, dewy face, a pop of blush and a little more extreme eye brow. Jenn also concentrated on the lashes since there was not too much color on the eye. The end result? A glowing goddess!

STEP 1: Prep skin with L’Oréal Paris Ideal Moisture Normal Skin Day Lotion ($6.99) followed by L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur ($24.99) applied to the T-zone.

STEP 2: Apply Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation in shade 6 and 7.

STEP 3: Start with L’Oréal Paris The One Sweep Sculpting Blush Duo in Flush ($12.95) for some light contouring and then use L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Color Lift Blush in Peach Gold Lift ($12.95) on the apples of her cheeks for a pop of color.

STEP 4: Then apply L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte ($7.95) mostly in the inside corners of the eye followed by L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($8.99).

STEP 5: To complete the look, apply Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick #500 to the lips.

INSPIRATION
Lupita was wearing this gorgeous red dress that was off the shoulder and had a very regal feel to it, so I was looking for inspiration from queens—Nefertiti, Cleopatra—but more modern, so regal, but at the same time exotic. I showed her sketches from Caesar and Cleopatra, the Vivian Lee movie, but it was important to me to do something that didn't look too costume-y.

SKINCARE
For a day like today, you really want the skin to be luminous, so I usually put on a little bit more CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Ultimate Skin Regeneration Texture Fine moisturizer and CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Yeux Ultimate Regeneration Eye Cream than usual, and let it sink into the skin while she gets her hair an nails done; then, I blot it off before I start with the foundation and powder.

FACE
On Lupita, I used CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 in No. 70 on the T-zone, on the side of the nose, on the chin, and a little bit on the cheeks to help illuminate her skin and brighten it up in the center, because for photographs, you want to look candlelit from within. On darker skin, you don't contour, but you do the opposite—highlight—so I used CHANEL Blush Duo Tweed Effect Brun Rosé on the tops of her cheekbones so that they'd catch the light. When people wear red dresses, it looks like they have blush on because the color reflects onto their face, so it was important to use something more golden.

EYES
The really important element is that I started with the eyebrows. Using CHANEL Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Noir Cendré I made them very thick and defined because we wanted to make a statement. Then I focused on the lid using gold tones, because I like the blend of red and gold; it's such a royal combination. I did a wash of the gold shade CHANEL Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Complice on her lids and then I put CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Vision on top. I used the Ligne Graphique De Chanel Liquid Liner in Noir to give it a modern-day Egyptian feel that I started on the inside and then winged out so it wasn't too long. I just wanted the flavor of a wing so it popped on the red carpet. Too much black liner around the eye would take away from how animated her eyes are so I used CHANEL Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Blue Jean, a shimmery royal blue pencil, underneath her lower lash-line just to define it without it looking too heavy. To make her eyes look even more cat-like I played with CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir on the outer corner, more than the inner corner of her eyes, applying the first coat horizontally, brushing upwards from root to tip, and the second coat vertically, pushing up the lashes on the outer corner to help with the illusion of an elongated eye.

LIPS
Even though her dress was red, we went with a color on her lips because if you pick a similar lipstick color to the dress, but apply it as a stain, it doesn't look too matchy-matchy. I started with CHANEL Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Colour in Rouge Profond and then I applied CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Pirate with the CHANEL Angled Lip Brush #33, which is a perfect way to apply lipstick really quick, and with a light hand. It's a similar color to her dress but a little deeper. The thing with red is you don't want it to be an exact match; you want it to be in the same family. As a finishing touch, I put a little bit of the gold, CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Vision right in the center of the lips, also applied with the lip brush, to add a golden glaze so the color was not just a flat red.

Her hair was done by Celebrity Hairstylist Larry Sims!

Larry started Lupita’s glam look by liberally applying Smooth ‘N Shine Go Pro Curls Curl-Licious Mist to refresh and reactivate her natural curls.

Next, Larry used a rat tail comb to insert a dramatic deep side part on the right side of her head. He then took the part back to the crown of Lupita’s head and combed her hair to each side.

After the dramatic part was put in place, Larry then used Smooth ‘N Shine Go Pro Curls Butter Bouncin’ to hydrate Lupita’s hair to give it an easy moldable texture.

For a finishing touch, Larry used got2b 2sexy voluptuous volume hairspray to keep her tresses in place through a long night of Golden Globe after parties.

Celebrity makeup artist Brett Freedman created Amy Poehler’s look for the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet using Votre Vu products.

“For Amy's triple duties at this year's Golden Globes (red carpet, host & nominee) I wanted to give her a vivid, sexy look that felt fresh, not overdone

I started prepping the skin by using Votre Vu Attentive Crème du Jour. It’s the perfect starting point for hydrated, firm skin.

Next, I used a Smashbox primer, which helps keep shine at bay and helps makeup hold up longer.

The foundation I used was Votre Vu Love Me Deux in Cannes. I wanted to give Amy's skin a lift of color. This sheer tinted moisturizer goes on seamlessly and is oh-so-natural looking. I dabbed the coordinating concealer on the inner eye near the tear duct to brighten and make the eyes pop. Next, I added a powder that was an ‘almost bronzer’ shade to give Amy's skin a warm glow.

For blush, I used Votre Vu Beaute En Bronze blush/bronzer duo. So as not to give Amy a too sweet/apple cheek look, I swept the deeper bronze shade in the hollow of the cheekbone and up toward temples. Just above it I swept the fleshy peach tone in the same direction.

I then applied a highlighter along the top of the cheekbone to catch light and add a dewy finish.

To makeup the eyes, I used Votre Vu Palette Play in Copper. I love this Votre Vu palette because it's super pigmented and can be used wet or dry. I used all fleshy/neutral tones on eyes and applied the shimmery bronze with a damp brush to (like the cheeks) catch light and give a dewy/cream shadow feel.

Eiffel Power Mascara was perfect for the red carpet since you definitely need something that's not only blackest black, but volumizes and gives ultimate length. My tip: curl the lashes before applying mascara and once more, just a quick pump, after the mascara has dried.

For the brows, I used Votre Vu's Arch De Triumphe in Fair. To give Amy's eyes the most open look possible, I brush this tinted soft wax behind brow hairs and slightly above, then brushed the hairs up for the fullest possible look.

For the lips, we kept it simple with a nude lip liner and clear gloss. I wanted Amy's lashes to be the darkest thing on her face, so we went with a soft and neutral lip. I filled in the entire lip with liner and applied a touch of gloss to the center to add moistness. “
