Get the Look: January Jones at the Met Ball 2012.

Hairstylist Giannandrea created the hairstyle for January Jones at the 2012 Met Ball.

Beauty Inspiration: "The inspiration for January was 2012 modern woman.”

Get the Look: "To create a soft clean sleek fashionable long bob, I started with a volume mousse on the roots, then blow dried the whole head with a mid-size round brush to create a a base volume at the crown. I then flat ironed the whole length of the hair, and to finish I used a very large curling iron to round up the whole outer frame of the bob, bangs included.  It is a combination of roundness and sleekness that creates this simple but yet elegant and modern hair that is light and moves beautifully. I finished the hair by using Kerastase Ultime Oil to add shine and a bit of Hair spray to seal against the humidity."

January’s nails were painted with CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Colour in Beige.

Rachel Goodwin did January's makeup, which was all CHANEL. It was all about fun spring color, so we chose CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Enjouee, a matte coral shade (available September) to create a prominent pastel mouth with a slightly playful feeling.

I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 10 on her skin for a smooth hydrated complexion.

I shaded her eye crease and cheekbones with Exclusive Creation Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Rose and embellished her lids and inner eyes with CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre in Vision (available November), a gold irridescent cream shade that played off the gold details of her vivid yellow gown and her turquoise and gold necklace. I finished her eyes with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir and filled in her brows with CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair.

Get the Look: Heidi Klum at the Met Ball 2012.

Makeup Artist Linda Hay did Heidi Klum's makeup for the 2012 Met Ball.

Beauty Inspiration: "As always inspiration begins with the gown. For the 2012 Met Ball Heidi wore a exquisitely simple sheer midnight blue lace piece from Escada. Perfectly eclectic black diamond necklaces, bracelets, and  rings from Lorraine Schwartz. To contrast the outfit we chose an effortless, beach sexy look. Bronzed, sunkissed skin, effortless textured hair."

Get the Look: "For the make up I used Anastasia' St Tropez on the skin and cheek. Ardel Mini Lashes on the top lid, with minimal mascara from Astor. A light brushing of YSL Bronzer over the cheeks, nosenose, and temple. Shu Uemura Lipstick in #306 on the lips."

Get the Look: Emma Stone at the Met Ball 2012.

Mara Roszak did the hair for Emma Stone at the 2012 Met Ball. She used all MATRIX products to style her beautiful look.

INSPIRATION: To complement her young and vivacious Lanvin gown, stylist Mara Roszak wanted Emma’s hair to emulate the same fun and effortless style. Describing the look as “doll-like,” Mara kept her look feminine yet playful with a flirtatious and modern, loose bun and side-swept bangs.

STEP-BY-STEP:
Step 1: Starting with damp hair, applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Wonder Boost Root Lifter evenly throughout hair for all-over volume without weighting it down
Step 2: Blew-out hair with medium-sized bore bristle brush for a soft, natural finish
Step 3: Applied MATRIX Design Pulse Mega Dust to the roots for extra texture, volume and hold
Step 4: Gathered hair at the top of the head in a pony-tail. Secured with elastic, letting the front and side pieces around the hairline loosely fall out for a wispy, feminine look.
Step 5: With a soft brush or comb, gently teased the roots of the pony tail to add more volume
Step 6: Loosely pinned hair into an undone bun shape, crisscrossing bobby pins for extra hold
Step 7: Gently swooped bangs across forehead, securing them to the side with Lanvin hair accessory
Step 8: Sprayed MATRIX Total Results Amplify Hairspray all over for all-night hold
Step 9: Finished off the look with Biolage colorcarethérapie Shine Shake Spray for a high-gloss, chic finish
