Get the Look: Ellen DeGeneres at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

Ellen DeGeneres attended the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, Celebrity Makeup Artist Heather Currie did her makeup.

Heather explains Ellen's look and how to get it.

I love getting people ready for the Teen Choice Awards because the attire tends to be more hip and trendy. Therefore, it’s fun to complement the clothes by doing a makeup look that is fresh and can even lean towards edgy.

Ellen likes her makeup to look flawless so I started by using the

COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Serum Primer. I like to start with a primer to give the foundation lasting power, which is great for a long night out.

I followed the primer with COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation. Since its summer and Ellen has a bit of a tan, I used foundation #245 Warm Beige. I like to start by getting the sponge wet and applying the foundation that way.

Next, I used a little of the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer  in Light Medium #215 and mixed it with the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Corrector  in #230.

I used my finger to mix the two together on the back of my hand, and then I applied it to the area under Ellen’s eyes, making sure to reach the inner corners of the eye area as well.

I then applied the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer  in Light Medium #215, with a brush to the T-zone area. I used the concealer lightly to cover any redness or imperfections on the skin.

Because it is an event that lends it self to an edgier look, I made Ellen’s eyes the focal point. Her eyes already stand out, so it’s fun to enhance them even more. I began by applying the COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling #815 to the lid area, making sure to use my finger to blend the shadow into the crease. I love this product because it’s a primer and a shadow so you can build on top of it with dry eye shadow for a lasting look.

To add more definition to the lash line I then added the COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze #420. I like to use my finger to smudge this line upwards away from the lash to give it a smoky effect. I do this step a couple of times for more intensity, always making sure to blend it well. And to complete the eyes, I applied two coats of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara in Brown #515.

Since the focus was more on the eyes, I used a lighter color of blush, COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Blush in Rich Cinnamon #210. I applied the blush with a synthetic brush, but it’s just as easy to use your finger, or the sponge that it comes with.

Since I wanted Ellen’s skin to have a beautiful glow, I lightly powdered her face with the COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder for Normal Skin in Natural Beige #140.

Along with the blush, I wanted to down play the lips so that the eyes would remain the focus. I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Pinot #245.I really like this gloss. Not only is it moisturizing, but it adds a hint of color to the lips without looking heavy.

Her red carpet look was created with the help of Makeup Artist Karan Mitchell for Maybelline New York. Karan was inspired by Selena’s inner vivacity and glowing personality and created a look using Maybelline New York’s new Limited Edition Vivienne Tam Great Lash Mascara in Very Black. To compliment her champagne-colored Erin Featherston dress, Karan kept Selena’s makeup fresh and chic but added a touch of color to her eyes and lips.

For Eyes

Karan started with Selena’s eyes, using Maybelline EXPERTWEAR Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte, using the soft shimmery shade of the palette on her lids up to the crease.  She then used the lightest gold hue from the Maybelline EYE STUDIO Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Caffeine Rush on the inside corners and as a highlight under her brow bone. Next, she used the deepest warm copper shade from the Maybelline EXPERTWEAR Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte on the outside corners of the eye, accentuating Selena’s beautiful brown eyes. Karan lined the upper and lower lash lines with Maybelline EYE STUDIO Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Charcoal. Karan then topped off the look with three coats of Maybelline New York’s Limited Edition Vivienne Tam Great Lash Mascara in Very Black.

For the Lips

The lip look was finished with Color Sensational Lipcolor in Pink Satin – the perfect product to achieve Selena’s soft, fresh, feminine pout!

Get the Look: Sophia Vergara at the Smurfs Premiere.

Sofia Vergara looked as stunning as usual at the Smurfs Premiere earlier this week. With her makeup done by Celebrity Makeup Artist Kayleen McAdams for COVERGIRL and hair done by Jen Atkin for Fekkai, her look can be achieved with the following rundown of products and tips.

From Kayleen:

Sofia had the most beautiful purple dress so I wanted to do a shimmery bronze eye so the makeup would be more subtle and the dress could take full focus. Because of the heat we layered bronzers on both the cheeks and eyes with other products so it would have staying power all night.

On her face I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Chestnut, COVERGIRL TruConceal #4  and COVERGIRL Clean oil-control Pressed Power in Soft Honey to eliminate any shine.

To highlight her cheeks and give a touch of color, I used COVERGIRL TruBlend Minerals Bronzer in Natural Bronze and COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Classic Pink.

To get her shimmery bronze eye, I applied COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling (I used this first on the lid with the shadow on top to give it staying power in this heat) followed by Queen Collection Eye Shadow in Fire It Up all over the lid and along the bottom lash line and COVERIGIRL Queen Collection Eye Shadow in Copper Penny on the outer corners. I lined her eyes with COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast eyeliner in Black Fire and finished the eyes with multiple coats of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara in Very Black.

To create Sofia’s soft, shiny pink lip, I applied COVERGIRL LipPerfection lipliner in Splendid followed by COVERGIRL LipPerfection lipcolor in Entwined.

Jen said,

“I wanted to give Sofia a sexy, glam beachy wave for The Smurfs premiere.  First, I prepped her hair with Fekkai Volumizing Mousse as well as Fekkai Beach Wave Spray at the roots. I then blew out her hair with a 1" round brush, and set the top center section with Velcro rollers. I then used a 2" T3 Curling Iron to set curls going back and away from her face. Once set, I sprayed Fekkai Sheer Hold Spray and used my fingers to break up the curls. We took the top center section out of the rollers and used dry shampoo at the roots to keep the volume locked in. Finally, I curled her bangs back with a Chi Flat Iron to finish.”
