Now, for the hair how-to: “For Julianna Margulies’ Emmys look, I wanted to mirror the glamour of her gorgeous Armani prive gown with an old Hollywood, Veronica Lake-inspired style. However, I still wanted Julianna to look modern, so I kept the style somewhat deconstructed.

I started with damp hair and worked Leonor Greyl’s Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase Detangling Milk through her hair, applying the product only from the mid-shaft down through the ends so as not to over-saturate it.

To create volume, I combed Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice through the hair with a wide-tooth comb and blow-dried it using a two-inch round brush. I made a deep side part on the left and then set the top portion of her hair in Velcro rollers for a little bit of extra oomph.

Then, I started to work on the back:

·         Making sure to spray Leonor Greyl Voluforme Styling Spray for Volume and Hold to each section before curling, I used a 1½ inch curling iron to barrel-curl the bottommost layer of Julianna’s hair in a uniform direction
·         I created another layer on top of that one, barrel-curling the sections but this time changing the direction of the curl from that of the first layer

I continued this pattern for remaining portion of the back of Julianna’s hair by creating layer on top of layer, maintaining the direction of the curl within one layer and switching to the opposite direction for the next. Alternating the direction of the curl between layers allowed the hair to fall into the wave that I was hoping to achieve.

After completing the back of Julianna’s hair, I removed the top half from the Velcro rollers and brushed through with a boar bristle brush, creating a soft wave with my fingers.

To complete the look, I finished with a spray of Leonor Greyl’s Laque Souple Light Styling Spray for hold.”

Get the Look: Ashley Green at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

mark Brand Ambassador Ashley Greene made her mark at the Teen Choice Awards. Celebrity Makeup Artist Vanessa Scali shared her makeup tricks for creating Ashley’s stunning look.

Face:

”The Teen Choice Awards is a daytime event which means the red carpet is hot.  I used foundation and concealer sparingly, keeping the skin as fresh and light as possible. On Ashley, I applied mark Min-A-Real Cream-To-Powder Foundation with a brush and then blended it with my fingers. Next, I applied mark Conceal For Real Long-Lasting Hook Up Concealer under Ashley’s eyes. To lightly enhance the bronze in her natural skin tone, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder to her temples, under the cheekbones and under the jaw line.”

 Cheeks:

”I used mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in After Glo on the apples of Ashley’s cheeks for a soft healthy flush. As a highlighter, I added a touch of mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder to the peak of her cheekbones and down the center of her nose to give her skin a luminous glow.

Eyes:

“I applied a sheer wash of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Tiki to Ashley’s lids, blending just over the natural crease and extending outward to open and elongate her eyes. I continued with Tiki under the bottom lashes to really intensify Ashley’s blue eyes. Next, for a hint of nude shine, I added the Gold Vert shade from the mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Iconic duo to her brow bones. To define and elongate the lash line, I lined her upper eyelids with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set.  For added depth, I used mark On The Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo at the very base of the lashes. For full, feathery lashes I applied a few generous coats of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black.”

Lips:

“I used my fingers to stain Ashley’s lips with mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Whiney, followed by mark Lipclick SPF 15 Color Shine Lipstick in Glama on top.”
