Get the Look: P!NK at the MTV VMA's.

P!NK’s MTV VMA Red Carpet and Performance looks were created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Kathy Jeung using products from COVERGIRL.

Pink's choice for her red carpet dress went wonderfully with what I had in mind for her beauty look, which was creating soft metallic depth around the eyes and keeping the rest of her face soft, glowing and bronzed. Since we only had a short amount of time for a makeup change for her performance look, we both loved the idea of a red carpet look that I could quickly transform in one or two steps.

Her performance outfit had such a great modern interpretation of film noir and punk and with the bold graphics and colors in the set design and lighting, I knew it was the perfect place to do something dramatic! I had just enough time to not only add color to her lips, but add depth to her eyes and give her look a twist by adding appliqués of bright red patent on her eyes.

How face products were applied:

I applied COVERGIRL Natureluxe Silk Foundation using a foundation brush and moistened blender sponge. I then set with a dusting of COVERGIRL Professional Loose Powder. We used
COVERGIRL Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder for touch ups throughout the night.

How eye products were applied:

RED CARPET: For the eyebrows, I used a few soft strokes of COVERGIRL Brow & EyeMakers Pencil in Soft Blonde to define, then brushed into place with COVERGIRL Professional Natural Lash Mascara in Clear.
For the eyes, I first applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Champagne all over the lid and brow bone as a base color. Next, I applied COVERGIRL SmokyShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke, using the dark grey side over the lid and into the crease. Over this I added COVERGIRL Queen Collection Eyeshadow Quads in Lionqueen, using the grey color to intensify and add more dimension. Along the lower lash line I used COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Silver Spark and to add a little more dimension and to further blend; I added COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Golden Sunrise in the area just under the brow bone with a medium fluffy brush. Over curled lashes, I applied two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast 24HR Mascara in Very Black

PERFORMANCE: I added COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Shimmering Onyx along the lower lash line, then lined the inside upper and lower rims of eyes with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Midnight. Using clear eyelash glue, I adhered appliqués onto her eyes that I cut out of red patent leather

How cheek products were applied:

I first applied COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach on the apples of the cheeks and blended outward and up. Then I applied COVERGIRL Cheekers Bronzer in Copper Radiance along the upper outer cheekbone area and also on outer temples (upper sides of face near eyes).

How lip products were applied:

RED CARPET: I prepare the lips with a lip balm when I'm doing skin preparation so it has a chance to absorb into lips. I then lined the lips with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Smoky and applied COVERGIRL OutLast All-Day Lipcolor in Faint Hue.  To finish the lip look, I added the corresponding Outlast All-Day Lipcolor clear lip gloss top coat to add shine.

PERFORMANCE: I started with applying COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Passion to define the lip edges then lightly powdered the edges to set, especially since I was working with a strong color.
After applying COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lip Color in Ruby Slipper, I blotted the lips after the first coat with a tissue, lightly powdered the edges with a powder puff and re-applied the lip color using a lip brush for extra staying power and intensity.

Get the Look: Amy Adams at The Masters Premiere.

Beauty company Votre Vu sponsored celebrity makeup artist, Stephen Sollitto, to create the beauty look of Amy Adams for the premiere of “The Master” at The 2012 Toronto Film Festival last week.

When Amy Adams met up with celebrity make-up artist, Stephen Sollitto, he was ecstatic that she was wearing a black Marchesa dress for the evening.  “I was like, “Thank god, because I already picked out your lip and your cheek,” because I wanted to use the Vu-On Rouge in Ma Cherry so badly and the Le Joli Crayon in Aubergine because it’s just soooo beautiful!” Stephen had Amy wash her face with Votre Vu’s Attentive Lait Pour Le Visage and then tone with the Fleur Blanc Tonic.  He wanted her skin to be really moisturized tonight, so he applied the Attentive Crème de Jour with a synthetic brush (as to not absorb any of the product) in order to apply more moisturizer slowly and carefully.  After letting that absorb, it was make-up time!

Using a damp sponge to create a more natural look, Stephen applied the tinted moisturizer from the Love Me Deux in Limoges all over Amy’s face. “I always add bronzer on every girl I do because I feel like a lot of girls ... you add foundation and their whole face is one blank canvas of color, so by adding bronzer there’s more dimension which makes them look more natural.”

To give dimension to Amy’s face, Stephen used the Beaute en Bronze.  He applied the matte bronze to her temples and swept it up to the hairline.  He then lightly contoured her cheekbones and dusted some under the chin and on the tip of the nose.  On her cheeks, he applied the Vu-On Rouge in Ma Cherry, which Stephen was most excited about.  To further play with light and dark, he took the concealer from the Love Me Deux and applied it under her eyes.

Next came the eyes! Stephen is in love with Votre Vu’s Le Joli Crayon in Aubergine.  “It’s very rare that I can find an eyeliner that I like this much.  The color is just beautiful and looks gorgeous on so many of the girls I work on!”  He used the Le Joli Crayon in Aubergine along Amy’s lashes and then dragged it out on the edges; he then swept Chanel’s Spice eye shadow over to feather out the line and soften the lash line.  Amy is known for having wide, gorgeous eyes, so to play that up, Stephen applied Eiffel Power Mascara to her upper and lower lashes.  To keep Amy’s brows looking defined, yet natural, he used Arch de Triumphe in Fair.

Finally, the lips!  On the lips, Stephen used the Vu-On Rouge in Ma Cherry again to give her a gorgeous sheer lip.  Lastly, he lightly dusted Belle Poudre in Light to set the makeup and decrease shine.

“She was very happy with everything.”
