L'Oréal Paris Must Haves: La Palette Nude + Smokissime Eyeliner.
/I don't know if you've been checking out the makeup department of your favorite drugstore lately, but if you haven't seen the L'Oréal Paris section, you need to take a look now. They have palettes! Yes, two new palettes in fact, called La Palette Nude. Couple it with the new Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen (another one of my latest obsessions) and your eyes are on trend ready to take on spring and summer.
So let's talk about these two palettes. There is La Palette Nude 1 and La Palette Nude 2. Each one has 10 shades in it that are highly pigmented I should add - much more so than I expected, and they range from light to dark that you can see. They are designed to flatter all skin tones and they each have three finishes in them: shimmery satin, buttery matte & lustrous sheen. I highly recommend using an eyeshadow primer with these to get full pigment, intensity and wear out of them. With that said, these are fantastic.
La Palette Nude 1 features your warm brown shades and these are you more neutral nude and brown shades. With more ivory, warm brown to darker brown shades, you can create looks from nude to smokey. I was super impressed with the quality. I found that some of the shades were quite simialr to those in Urban Decay Naked 1, but not a total dupe, and some remind me of shades in the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette. It is probably the best drugstore palette I have ever tried and, again, I am very impressed with it.
On the back, there are four easy tutorials that are very easy to recreate including Nude Ombré, Feline Fancy, Sultry Angel and Lady Butterfly.
La Palette Nude 2 features more mauve and rose brown and nude shades. This palette would be more similar to Urban Decay Naked 3, though not a total dupe again. I think the pigmentation is a little better in this palette, or maybe I should say the intensity of the shades on this this one, especially the shimmers. I liked La Palette Nude 2 better than I expected.
On the back, the easy to recreate tutorials include Glamour Undercore, Red Carpet Ready, Mauve Ombré and Sultry Smokey.
Each La Nude Palette has a suggested retail price of $19.99, but with so many drugstore discounts, extra bucks, buy one get one and $5 off offers, I doubt you would ever pay full price for these. I bought both of my palettes and wound up getting the La Nude 1 by combining extra bucks and coupons and paid nothing for it after discounts. I hard a hard time finding La Nude 2, but I finally found it at Walmart, where it was $14.97 and I had a coupon from a magazine for $3.00 off any L'Oreal Paris product. Score on both!
Also new and great deals and must haves are the new Infallible Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen ($9.99).
These really cool powder pen liners utilize a revolutionary smoke applicator that have a unique, precision foam tip that makes draw a line and blending a smokey eye a breeze. The formula is a gel-like powder that glides on easily and cleanly that is pretty intense and I love that it lasts. There are four colors that coordinate beautifully with the La Palette Nude too. I have Black Smoke and Taupe Smoke, but Brown Smoke and Purple Smoke are available as well.
Shop for these new L'Oreal Paris beauties in your favorite drugstore or mass retailers including ULTA and Walgreens. Let me know what you think; have you seen these new palettes in you drugstore yet? Will you be buying?
