10 Things I'm Doing to Get Ready for the Holidays Featuring NuFACE.
/With Thanksgiving just over a week away and the holiday season in full swing, I am in full on holiday prep mode. I'm not just talking the prepping house, gift buying or shopping for Thanksgiving dinner; I'm talking about how I prepare myself to look and feel my best. It is such a hectic time of year; I'll be seeing friends I haven't all year long and I have a lot of functions to attend. All of this in addition to holding down my already over-scheduled routine? There is no doubt that I'll be short on sleep and probably feeling up to par, so I'll need some help. I depend on some great products and a few services to get me in tip top holiday shape. Here are the top 10 things I am doing now to get ready for the holidays so I am looking and feeling my very best all season long.
1. Hair Appointment
I always make a hair appointment for the week of Thanksgiving. A trim and a color (nothing fancy, it's not time for a totally new look now) is perfect now so it will last through New Years Day.
2. Buy New Lipstick
I pick out a seasonal/holiday lipstick that I know will get me through the party season. I told you about my favorite fall lipsticks and more recently how I've been experimenting with lipstick color which are great for holiday parties. If you go with a smoky eye, a nude lipstick is your best choice.
3. Weekly Face Masks
My skin is stressed now more than ever during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I am sure to do a weekly hydrating face mask. Some of my recent favorites include: SK-II Facial Treatment Mask for an instant infusion of moisture and radiance boost; nΓΌgg Face Masks in the Dry or Dull Intense Skin Treatment Collection for instant relief in four consecutive days to dry, dull, dehydrated skin; Masker Aide All Nighter Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask to awaken, refresh and replenish tired skin; beauty360 Hydrating Purifying Tissue Facial Mask to replenish skin's moisture for a brighter complexion in 10 minutes.
4. Pamper My Feet
My feet will need to look their best for all the strappy heels I'll be wearing at my holiday parties and I just did something to get them softer than they've ever been β I did a chemical peel on my feet. Have you heard of Baby Foot? This exfoliant foot peel is the grossest thing I've ever done, but it revealed skin so soft that I will be do it again once I need to. After soaking my feet for one hour in special booties, my feet began to peel on day five and peeled lik nothing I've ever experienced for 11 days. It was SO worth it. Don't fall for imitations, buy the original from babyfoot.com or beauty.com.
5. Serious Facial Toning with NuFACE Mini Facial Toning Device
One thing that I have been using to look my best this fall that is making a HUGE difference in my appearance is the NuFACE Mini Facial Toning Device. This handheld facial "toning" device actually gently lifts, contours and tones the skin by using microcurrents (soft wave technology that gently stimulates the skin to improve its appearance) and it only takes about five minutes a day. I have been using NuFACE to treat my jawline, cheekbone and brow areas and I have a noticeable improvement in the tone, as in, the area is lifted and appears fuller and more plump. I noticed a difference after a few days, but I have been using the NuFACE Mini for a few months and the results are only getting better and better. You can see the results happening right before your eyes.
I love the NuFACE so much, that I've partnered with my friends at NuFACE to giveaway one NuFACE Limited Edition White Rose Mini Facial Toning Device to one lucky reader. Please see below for all of the details.

6. DIY Spa Night
I try to do this weekly, but it's not always so easy during the holiday season. I make it a point to do it once or twice during the holiday season because it really does help me to relax and recharge the internal batteries. Here is how I do an at-home spa night: How to DIY Spa
7. Heavy Duty Eye Cream
I'm a huge proponent of eye cream and how much of a difference it can make in your appearance when you find the one that works best for you when used consistently (my favorite eye creams). In addition to my normal hydrating eye creams that I use this time of year, I have been using StriVectin Advanced Retinol Eye Cream. This cream uses a combination of NIA-114 and Retinol to get rid of puffiness, redness, dark circles and wrinkles pretty fast.
8. Manicure and Pedicure
I also have this scheduled for next week and it will be needed again (or two) before Christmas and New Years. I feel that this is something I can treat myself to and relax for the 90 or so minutes. If you can't afford the service, take the time to paint your nails in a pretty holiday nail color to feel festive.
9. Cover and Treat Dark Circles
I've got the concealer out and other tricks up my sleeve to hide how tired I am during this busy holiday season. Here is how I cover my dark circles, which actually takes a bit more than just a quick dab of concealer: How to Cover Dark Under Eye Circles
10. Relax and Enjoy
This might sound easier said than done, but I really do try to enjoy the holiday season and the true meaning of the season. I love spending time with family and friends and seeing those that I don't often see. When I feel stressed, I do take a bath and practice some of the spa things like I mentioned above, but there are some simple things I also do that relax me as well. I like to turn off all the lights in my house and only have the house lit by candlelight with holiday scents and holiday lights gleaming; I turn on holiday music in the background, light a fire, look through photo albums or turn on an old movie. Take a few moments and be grateful for the little things this season.
