5 Minute Face with Laura Geller.
/With Thanksgiving just a week away and then the hustle and bustle of the rest of the holidays coming up super quick right after that, time is short. That means sometimes we need to spend less time on our makeup. Guess what? That it ok! Yes, really, when there are great multi-purpose makeup products from brands like Laura Geller, you can do a super quick 5 minute - and look beautiful - and get on with your day!
I recently had a chance to try out some of Laura Geller's core products along with some of her pretty makeup shades to do a quick look. I was very impressed with the overall quality, ease of use and long wear of all of the product. I love the baked formula she uses. Everything is velvety soft! The products apply like a dream, blend easily and really last the day. And when I say it took me 5 minutes to do my complete face, I am fibbing just a bit, because it really took me a bit less.
I started priming my face with Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Makeup-Up Primer in Champagne ($30). Spackle for the face, is like spackle is for walls in your home. It fills in lines, cracks and crevices and gives skin a super smooth surface. It is very moisturizing yet lightweight. It glides on with fingers and helps makeup last all day. I like the Champagne color as it gives skin a touch of a radiant glow, which is really nice this time of year when we are hurried and maybe short on sleep.
Next, I apply Laura Geller Balance-N-Brighten ($33). This is a powder foundation that makes shade matching skin tones a breeze. You see, it has color correcting swirls of multicolored liquid pigments in it and they are actually baked for 24 hours on terracotta tiles, then hand-finished in Italy. When it is brushed on over skin, the look is creamy and it naturally self-adjusts to leave skin looking even and naturally radiant. Easy!
Next, I apply a pop of color to my cheeks with Laura Geller Baked Color True Blush ($27.50). I used Malibu which is a really bright pop of pink. It really warms up my skin in the fall/winter. Again, I love the baked formula for how velvety rich and creamy it is. This blush leave a beautiful satin finish on the skin too.
For the eyes, I keep it pretty simple with an all-in-one compact; Laura Geller Eye Elements Baked Eye Shadow and Highlighter ($38.00). I selected Sahara Skies trio of shades in the gold family with a gold, smoky plum and beautiful aubergine shade. It's simple to use a fluffy brush and use the gold on the brow bone and then go in with the plum on the lid. I use the aubergine as a quick liner with a smudge brush. Remember, this is a quick look so I am not careful and the look actually is pretty - it's not meant to be perfect. I finish the eyes with Laura Geller Glamlash Dramatic Volumizing Mascara ($24.00) just to my upper lashes. It's a nice, volumizing mascara that lengthens and volumizes lashes quick so multiples coats are not needed.
Finally, I dust a bit of the highlighter from the Elements compact above on the top of my cheekbones and apply a gloss, the Laura Geller Color Drenched Lip Gloss ($19.00) to my lips. This is a full color gloss packed with Vitamin E, so it's kind to lips too, that leaves lips kissed with a lot of pretty color. I used the limited edition Pink Macaron shade - perfect for the holidays. I can't resist the coffee flavor either.
