I’m not one of those gals who needs to wear makeup every day to feel beautiful. That said, I do feel good when I wear makeup - maybe even a little better. On days that I’m running late or short on time, instead of going out with a bare face I’ll often grab for my go-to “quickie” products. To even out my complexion and combat redness, I’ll reach for a tinted moisturizer. On deck this week: American Beauty Youth-Full Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 ($25).

American Beauty Youth-Full Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 promises sheer coverage that’s natural-looking and comfortable. Simple? Yes. True? Also yes! First, I have to give this tinted moisturizer props for actually giving a little moisture with the addition of jojoba seed oil. When I use this, I can easily skip applying my usual moisturizer without fear of those dreaded dry patches.

The coverage is indeed sheer, but it’s a good sheer. It’s not the sheer that melts into your skin and virtually disappears, but it’s a sheer that adds an even, pretty glow. It won’t hide blemishes or imperfections, but it doesn’t claim to do so either. The SPF deserves a shout-out as well! You know I hate applying sunscreen, beauties, so I like to sneak it in where I can.

Overall, I’m impressed with my first American Beauty product! A little goes a long way, and it lives up to it’s label. Definitely worth a look.

Gloss of the Day: American Beauty Fabulous Feel High Shine Lipgloss in Poppy.

I love a berry red lipgloss and this is one of my new favorites. It is from the American Beauty brand, exclusively at Kohl's. It is actually called Fabulous Feel High Shine Lipgloss and the berry red color I am loving is called Poppy. This gloss does have a very nice, moisturizing, creamy feel to it. It offers a nice color, with a high shine, and no stickiness.

American Beauty Luminous Liquid All Over Face Glow.

As the sunny glow sets away from my face, I am finding myself needing a bit of extra glow these days. And while I am still loving my tinted moisturizers for the Summer to Fall transition, a powder highlighter is not what I had in mind. Enter Luminous Liquid All Over Face Glow from American Beauty.

Surely, you have seen the beautiful American Beauty line of cosmetics at Kohls. But have you really seen the beautiful line up of products they have there? My first foray into the brand is with this All Over Face Glow, and I don't think I could have made a better choice.

This wonderful light liquid highlighter can be used in a few different ways. For a soft all over glow, mix a bit of this with your regular moisturizer, or your tinted one for a bit of more warm color. It can also be dabbed onto spots, like cheeks and brow bones to spot highlight and lighten up. There are three shades to choose from: Copper Glow, Gold Glow and Pink Glow. Gold Glow is working wonderfully with my fading color, and I am sure i will put Pink Glow to good use when the Winter months are upon us.
