/In case you missed the big beauty news, COVERGIRL has teamed up with one of their very own faces Katy Perry to create a one of a kind collection: the Katy Kat Collection. This was truly a collaboration combining Katy's artistic vision with COVERGIRL's beauty expertise. Katy was involved with everything when it came to creating the Katy Kat collection — from the shades to names to packaging, the collection including 13 highly-pigmented and moisturizing demi-matte lipsticks plus a hot new mascara are all Katy's vision.
The COVERGIRL Katy Kat Matte Lipstick is a new kind of matte lipstick, unlike most traditional matte lipsticks. Sure, matte lipsticks are popular, but most women don't want a flat matte lipstick or one that dries out the lips. COVERGIRL did their research and took to their labs and created this new, demi-matte formula that delivers beautiful color, moisture and a really nice velvety smooth finish.

COVERGIRL has always does right by their lipstick formulas and this one is no exception. The colors are very well pigmented and these glide on the lips smooth and even with no dragging. The demi-matte description is pretty right on. It is more on the matte side the longer you wear it, but this means color is extremely rich and I appreciate how longwearing these are. The lipstick actually starts out pretty creamy then seems to dry down to a matte; it really is a different formula. If mattes aren't totally your preference but you crave fun shades, try these and add a dot of clear or pearl gloss to the center of your lips. I really like the pink nude shade in Sphynx.

Katy and COVERGIRL’s new longwear mascara, COVERGIRL Katy Kat Eye Mascara, comes in black and a great for summer and totally on par for Katy, daring blue. The Katy Kat Eye rocks lashes to the next level with 10x the volume and lashes swept up and out. Katy made sure the brand used a new formula for her mascara and they did. This new formula uses a special blend of waxes that delivers a wet application so that lashes receive an immediate intense, dark appearance… yet it doesn’t smudge. This also means there's more time to sculpt the lashes before the formula dries. I'm really liking the formula. Tough I'm not bold enough to wear the Perry Blue shade, it is great to use all over lashes or just on the tips for a fun, flirty look.
