Fashion Week S/S 2012: Backstage at Mara Hoffman.

During my short jaunt to New York for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, I was lucky enough to head backstage with MAKE UP FOR EVER for the Mara Hoffman show.

Created by MAKE UP FOR EVER ALLIANCE artist, Lottie, the look was gorgeous and very wearable.

Inspired by Mexican women, the look had a strong brow, very sculpted cheeks glowy cheeks, with various shades of brown to highlight the cheeks and the eyes. The eyes were very sultry with a thick, almost greasy looking black eyeliner. The lip was a very pretty peach color with a bit of gloss on top.

How to get the look:

Cheeks: Lottie first applied MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation to give the models a flawless canvas, and then sculpted the cheeks using MUFE Eye Shadows in #76 and #98.  She illuminated the complexion using MUFE Uplight along with MUFE Star Powder #902 and #974.

Eyes: Lottie shades the eyes using MUFE Eye Shadow #76 topped either MUFE Star Powder in #930 and #974. Next, she lines the eyes first with MUFE Khol Pencil #1K in black, and then added MUFE Flash Color #11 for a slightly worn, messy look. She finished the eyes with a thick coat of MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara.

Lips: The lips were a light shade of peachy pink.  Lottie used MUFE Rouge Artist Intense #39 and added MUFE Glossy Full #10 on top for shine.

The intricately woven fabric braids were created by DJ Riggs and Nick Irwin for Tigi. I was in awe at the artistry.

The inspiration again was the ethnic beauty of a Mexican Goddess, whose style is tribal chic. To get the look, stylists used TIGI Catwalk Session Series Work It Hairspray and TIGI Catwalk Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo.
