I’m all about a beautiful, natural, real looking complexion, and that’s what Urban Decay set out to do with the Stay Naked Collection.
The bulk of Urban Decay’s Stay Naked Collection launched late last summer with the the Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation, Stay Naked Correcting Concealer and Stay Naked Pro Customizer. They just added to the collection with the Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation and Stay Naked Threesome Bronze, Blush and Highlighter Palette. It’s definitely a complete complexion collection.
Urban Decay Stay Naked Collection
I finally had a chance to give most of the products a try and wanted to share more about the products and my review.
I was sent the Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation, Stay Naked Correcting Concealer, Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation and Stay Naked Threesome. There is a pretty huge selection of shades for the foundation and concealer, but the way that they are broken down made it fairly easy to select a shade. I actually got a pretty good match for the powder foundation (40NN) and concealer (30CP). I also selected 40NN for the liquid foundation but I think I would have gone a little darker for this one.
Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation is real-skin, matte, waterproof, and vegan formula that is VERY long lasting — up to 24 hours. The formula is made to be flexible and reflect your skin’s actual color with a breathable formula. It offer a medium coverage that feels weightless on. It is buildable and feels quite silky as it glides on. It is quite matte and did not look so great on my very dry and dehydrated skin after a few hours. It did minimize pores, but started to sink into and accentuate my lines. I think that if your skin is not so dry, more normal or oily, then this would be quite nice on you. The shade was too light for my daughter Caci, but when she tried it, she really like how it looked on her normal to dry skin.
As I said, there are a lot of shades to select from, 50 in all, and it is fairly easy to do so. Shades are broken down by 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones (cool, neutral or warm) and 7 undertones (ranging from pink to blue to red).
I had better luck with the Stay Naked Correcting Concealer. This is also a very long wearing formula that is very pigmented and stays true-to-color as you wear it. It is lightweight, feels creamy as it glides on, but dries down to a demi-matte finish that doesn’t settle or crease all that much under eyes. It is waterproof, which is a plus, and does a nice job at concealing and color correcting dark circles.
There are 25 shades to select from, and again there is a lineup of 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 5 undertones to find your perfect shade.
Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation is a finely-milled powder foundation formula in another matte finish. I like that it is long wearing, buildable and looks natural on the skin. It also contains moringa seed oil, which has concentrated anti-pollution, anti-aging, and anti-inflammatory properties for improving skin’s appearance, but I found it a bit too matte for me. I don’t mind a matte formula that is forgiving, but for some reason, this one also doesn’t sit so well on my skin. I like it better than the liquid formula, but powder foundations are not my friend, especially in the winter.
Stay Naked Threesome Bronze, Blush and Highlighter Palette is my pick of the collection. I love an all-in-one cheek palette and gosh, this is gorgeous in the palette and on! The palette is available in 3 different shade families and each of these pressed powders has intense staying power. Can you say lasts up to 14 hours? Yes, please! The powder formula is weightless, finely milled and has a very smooth and buttery texture. The formula contains antioxidant and anti-pollution properties to help balance and protect the skin, while giving skin a natural satin finish that never cakes or streaks. You can apply each shade separately, obviously, or use one large brush to swirl the shades together and apply onto the cheeks together.
