I've taken a pledge to get in shape this summer. I've been (surprisingly) doing really well with my weight loss plan and I am just starting to incorporate some exercise into my overall plan. It's HOT out though. Staying fresh and beautiful though all of the elements takes some work. I've got some products that I keep in my gym bag and professional tips to stay in shape this summer and it is all much easier than it sounds. If I can do it, trust me -- you can too!

Gym Bag Beauty Musts

I can not get through a long hot day or workout without starting my day with a makeup primer. It is essential to locking in makeup for the day and keeping it fresh and fabulous through everything. Plus a good makeup primer fills in pores and fine lines to create a smooth, even surface to begin with. You can get makeup primers from the drugstore or department store. I have been really impressed with the drugstore quality makeup primers lately; you don't have to spend a fortune to get the results you need. Impressive!

Waterproof mascara is a must as well. I don't know if it's because I sweat or if it is the humidity, but I seem to need a waterproof mascara in the summer. Now, to protect my lashes, I apply one coat of my favorite mascara first (non-waterproof) then one coat of waterproof mascara on top of that. I feel like most waterproof mascaras dry out my lashes so I like applying the regular mascara on first.

My hair needs a lot of refreshing in the summer, so dry shampoo is a must. It's obvious to use when extending a blow-out or not washing, but dry-shampoo is a great hair refresher after a long walk on a hot day or after a workout. When directing dry shampoo at the roots into the hair, don't just leave it there; there is a trick to applying dry shampoo. Spray dry shampoo at the roots of the hair and then take your fingers and rub it around into the scalp just as you would a regular shampoo and spread it around. Then take a brush and brush it through your hair. You only need dry shampoo where you get oily or sweat.

Obviously, I need a great Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant to get me through a hot, humid day especially if I am working-out.
