Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer Review & Photos.

This summer I was planning to hunt down the perfect summer daytime moisturizer.  I have a short list of requirements, but they are important ones.  I need a moisturizer to be light enough for summer time use, but it really needs to hydrate my skin at the same time. I need it to sink into my skin quickly. I want a moisturizer that would not interfere with how my makeup looks, but make my skin look better before I even put makeup on. Lastly, it needs to have a sunscreen, both UVA/UVB with an SPF rating of at least 15. I planned to contact a few of my favorite brands to see what they had to offer.  Well, that plan went out the window because I found the one; the daytime moisturizer of my dreams. I found it in the Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer.

It's full name is the Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Anti-Aging Sunscreen. Say that ten times fast. Ha! Well, the mouthful says so much about this sunscreen and what it does. This sunscreen contains anti-aging properties, makes skin look better, sinks into skin almost immediately, while plumping up lines and hydrating skin, without feeling heavy. All with a sunscreen of 20 that protects the skin, but stays on the top layer and doesn't effect the active ingredients from reaching underneath the skin. If I could change one thing about Daily Deflector, it would be the scent. The scent is not strong, but it is there. I do prefer it to the average sunscreen scent of a daytime moisturizer, but if a scent is a bother to you, then it might deter you from buying. I am super picky about scents, especially when using them on my face, but it is not enough to stop me from buying this one or labeling it my holy grain moisturizer of the moment.

Did I mention the price? $48.00. For 1.7 fl oz. That is a lot of product; more than your average 1 oz. sized moisturizers.
