My Favorite Ways to Refresh for Spring
/Post sponsored by Mirum. Opinions are 100% my own.
It is starting to finally feel like spring around here and I am all about freshening things up. From my clothes, shoes and accessories to my hair, nails, makeup and even scent, I’ve got a whole spring refresh happening and it’s happening now.
I’ve been slowly incorporating some spring essentials into my life to make me feel like it was spring, even through the temperatures haven’t felt like it was the new season. I thought it would be fun to share my favorites ways to refresh for spring to inspire you to get yourself ready for the season now that we are in the thick of it.
CLOTHES
I have been slowly shopping for new spring clothes. I lost some weight over the winter and I really need a lot of new clothes (yay me!).
I have been buying a lot of basics like cropped jeans and cute pixi pants in all the shades for spring. I have been adding in a few brighter pieces, along with a must-have denim jacket. I can’t wait to wear everything.
I had a little panic moment… I could not ruin my new clothes with my antiperspirant deodorant. What was I thinking? I knew I was safe, because I use Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant Deodorant (I changed up the scent for spring, more on that below.)
You know that I have used Dove Dry Spray FOREVER, and dry sprays from Dove are more popular than ever. I even got my husband and boys in on the Dove Men+Care routine with Dove Men+Care Cool Fresh Dry Spray, because nothing else compares.
Dove Dry Sprays are the freshest way to complement my style this spring and beyond. Not only do they go on dry, but they also provide proven protection and confidence for 48-hours and I don’t have to worry about it ruining my new clothes. I even switched up my Dry Spray scent to a fresh scent for spring and I found it at CVS where they were having a fab BUY 1 GET ONE 50% OFF and Extra Bucks deal going on (see below).
I selected the Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant Deodorant Cool Essentials that is infused with the fresh fragrance of Dove cucumber and green tea. if you're looking for a long-lasting antiperspirant deodorant that sprays on dry and leaves you with an invigorating, fresh scent, this one is it.
SHOES
I have been on a shoe shopping frenzy, but sadly, I had to return about 90% of them. Why are shoe sizes not consistent? What I have been shopping for are mules, espadrilles and lots of open back shoes. I have also been buying a lot of cute sandals and cannot wait for the warmer weather to come to New England so that I can wear those on a more consistent basis.
ACCESSORIES
I am so happy that big, chunky earring and necklace styles are still in. Whether you like the colored styles or gold or silver styles, big and bold and layering is still a fresh and trendy look. I feel like I can throw on the perfect white tee, jeans and pop on a bright colored pair of earring and be done.
HAIR
I added a few extra highlights to my hair with my recent root touch up. In anticipation of spending more time outside, I thought it was a nice way to brighten things up around my face. It was an easy treatment and we didn’t have to do a full head or even a crown of highlights. All my stylist did was add in a few extra highlights around my face to give me the added boost of brightness that I wanted.
NAILS
I am a neutral shade girl most of the year, but I have transitioned over to pink shades on my nails to freshen it up for spring. Now is the time to transition to pastels or brighter shades of colors to bring the spring in.
MAKEUP
I have been sharing a lot of spring makeup tips and product info in my recent posts, so you can look back to those to get a lot of my product recommendations. An easy way to freshen up for spring is by applying a brighter or lighter lip color and a pop of or wash of color on your cheeks.
SCENT
I mentioned above how I changed up my antiperspirant deodorant scent, but that is not the only thing that I changed up scent wise. I not a huge fan of spray on fragrances, as in perfumes, but I do use scented body washes and lotions, so that means I am lightening things up for spring. I am using more light and floral, fresh spring scents in the bath, shower and even in my hair.
