NARS All Day Luminous Foundation + Soft Velvet Loose Powder.
/I am a HUGE fan of NARS foundation products. By foundation, I mean concealer, primer, foundation, powder -- everything used to create the foundation layer of my makeup. Their products just work so well for me. I use their Pore-Refining or Light Optimizing Primer and Radiant Creamy Concealer almost everyday when not testing other makeup. And their All Day Luminous Powder Foundation was one of my very favorite launches of last year and I wear it all the time. So when I heard they were launching a liquid version in this All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, I could not WAIT to try it. The icing on the cake is the Soft Velvet Loose Powder to set the look.
All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation really is a weightless foundation that covers with just a tiny bit! They have created it so that just a single pump of the foundation is all that you need to cover your entire face. The look is beautiful! It is almost matte, but a natural matte look, what NARS calls luminous, with a lot of coverage. It glides on with ease and is easily blendable with a beautyblender, brush or fingers. I really like that it lasts all day long, even without primer. I had to test it without primer to see how it would hold up and I barely noticed a difference. I do prefer wearing a primer because I have fine lines and pores, but this is a very long-lasting foundation.
I know you are thinking, wow, this is just another foundation, but this is not. It really is an innovative formula with polymers that make the foundation bind to the skin. But it binds to the skin in a way that it feels like nothing on the skin. I am SO impressed by that.
All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation ($48) comes in a great range of 20 shades to match a variety of skin tones.
To set the look of the foundation, finish it with the Soft Velvet Loose Powder ($36). This new powder creates a soft focus look toe the foundation while helping to control oil. It contain Hyaluronic Acid bonded powder to visibly blur the appearance of fine lines and pores, while never looking feeling dry or cakey on the skin. The powder comes in eight forgiving shades to match a variety of skin tones.
I tried the shade Deauville in the foundation and I thought it would match when I first applied, but it is very full coverage. It seemed to be quite yellow on me. It also seemed to creep into every fine line on my face before setting with the loose powder. The loose powder did airbrush those out a bit. If you have lines that you don't want to show, I'd stay away from this and stick with All Day Luminous Powder Foundation which makes my skin look flawless.
