The NEW Schick Hydro Silk Razor.

A water activated shave? As that and a new five blade razor are the main features of the new Schick Hydro Silk Razor, I'd like to give it a try. What that exactly means is sort of hard to explain, so I thought I'd post a little Q&A from the Schick Research & Development department.

What are the main benefits of the razor’s Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum?
A: The Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum moisturizes skin throughout each shave and for up to 2 hours after shaving. It also helps the razor to glide comfortably on the skin with each stroke.

Q: How can I get the best results from the Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum?
A: For the best results, shave in the shower. To activate the Moisturizing Serum place the Schick® Hydro SilkTM Razor cartridge under running water for a few seconds. To properly store, hang on the shower hanger that is included in the package, so that the razor can fully dry in between shaves.

Q: Is the Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum in the Schick® Hydro SilkTM Razor hypoallergenic?
A: Yes! Schick® Hydro SilkTM has been dermatologist tested and is acceptable to use on most skin types, even sensitive skin.

Q: Does the Schick® Hydro SilkTM Razor have a limited shelf life, due to the Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum?
A: Testing has been conducted in extreme environmental conditions without degradation of the formula.

Q: How many shaves does the Water-Activate Moisturizing Serum last?
A: It varies depending on each woman’s shaving habits and usage, as well as environmental factors in the location where the shaving occurs, i.e. bathroom, shower, etc.
In recent external consumer testing, respondents stated that the Water-Activated Serum lasted for an average of 11 shaves.

Curve-Sensing Blades/Skin Guards/Cartridge
Q: What are Curve-Sensing Blades? Is this technology different from the blade technology in the Schick® Quattro for Women® or Intuition® Razors?
A: Curve-Sensing Blades are individually supported blades that can move independently from each other to allow the razor to safely and effectively maneuver over knees & ankles, for example.
Neither the Schick® Quattro for Women®, nor the Schick® Intuition® Razor have individually supported blades.

Q: How many shaves do the 5 Curve-Sensing Blades last?
A: It varies significantly depending on each woman’s shaving habits, hair and usage. For the optimal performance, since the blades and the Water-Activated serum work together, you should replace the cartridge when you feel like either the 5 Curve-Sensing blades or the Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum are not performing to your expectations.

Q: What are Skin Guards?
A: Skin Guards are strips of material attached to each of the 5 Curve-Sensing blades along the cutting edges which work to smooth skin flow as you shave and to reduce the effective blade span helping you get a close and comfortable shave with less irritation.

Q: How are Skin Guards important for how a woman shaves?
A: Skin guards help to protect skin from irritation during shaving. They allow the razor to give an incredibly close shave with less fear of nicks and cuts.
