The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games are coming to a close tonight and I for one, will be sad to see them go. The unity of the athletes in the competition is inspiring. I have been glued to my television day and night taking in so many moments. There have been so many moments of glory and heartbreaking disappointment; I have loved it all. Of course I have kept a firm eye on the beauty of it all and have broken it down with the Top 3 Olympic Games Beauty Trends.
1. Biathlon Braids
These fun braids were seen everywhere in Sochi at the Olympic Games. From athletes to guests, these intricate, yet easy to duplicate braids were the hottest accessory.
Olay Fresh Effects athlete Jamie Anderson stopped into the salon at the P &G Family Home in Sochi and even got some Biathlon Braids herself. Jamie won a gold medal in Slopestyle Snowboarding.
Biathlon Braids are not that hard to do on your own either, here is how:
Key products to make sure your Biathlon Braids are perfect:
- Pantene Repair & Protect Overnight Miracle Repair Serum - Use this the night before braiding. It protects hair from damage while repairing overnight for softer, healthier hair for styling and braiding in the morning.
- Pantene All-In-One Styling Balm - The balm will help to tuck in stray ends and fight frizz so braids are smooth and beautiful.
- Pantene Flexible Hold Hairspray - This is the perfect long lasting hairspray to hold braids in place all day.
2. Patriotic Nails
I can't think of a more unique way to show team pride then on your nails, and this was greatly seen throughout the Sochi Olympic Games on spectators to athletes alike. Here are a few of my favorite Patriotic Nails from the Olympic Games.
Key products to make sure your Patriotic Nails are perfect:
COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss - This polish features a built-in topcoat so it stays shiny for up to one week.
- Red - Ever Reddy
- White - Snow Storm
- Blue - Out of the Blue
3. Camera Ready Makeup: Lips & Lashes
I don't think I've ever seen a more glamorous sports event in my life. It looked like every competitor stepped straight out of the makeup chair before they hit the slopes or ice. From COVERGIRL athlete Gracie Gold's signature red lip and COVERGIRL athlete Ashley Wagner's and Pantene athlete Mikaela Shiffrin's look at me lashes, I was constantly wowed.
Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner both won a bronze medal in Team Figure Skating. Mikaela Shiffrin won a gold medal in Women's Slalom. Wherever these girls went, they were SochiGlam.
Key products to make sure your camera ready makeup is perfect:
- COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume Mascara - This mascara boasts a unique two-step system that adds volume and dark intensity for a polished, fierce look.
- COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipstick in Hot - The ultimate red lipstick shade.
- COVERGIRL Clump Crusher Mascara - My personal favorite, this mascara features a revolutionary want that guarantee no clump build-up, even after 30 swipes.
- Olay Fresh Effects {Everything Off} Deluxe Makeup Removal Wet Cloths - Of course you have to remove all of that camera ready makeup at the end of the day and these easily remove makeup in seconds. Not only do they remove makeup quickly, they provide skin with a super refreshing clean feeling.
