Tria Age-Defying Laser Review & Update Week 8.

In my never-ending quest to look as young as I can, I started testing the Age-Defying Laser from Tria Beauty earlier this year. I have just completed week eight of my twelve week trial with the Age-Defying Laser and thought it was a great time to share an update. I wanted to let you know how things were progressing with my treatment and share some pretty amazing results that I am seeing - and my treatment is not even complete.

First, for those that may have not read my Tria Age-Defying Laser Introduction & Review, I'd like to recap a bit and explain what the Tria Age-Defying Laser is and how it works.

The Tria Age-Defying Laser is a fractional, non-ablative laser, the same lasers that are used in doctors’ offices, and is FDA-cleared for at-home use. Fractional, non-ablative lasers work deep beneath the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin; this technology is used by dermatologists to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, fade age spots and brighten skin. What Tria Beauty has done is take that professional hour-long laser treatment and break it into smaller treatments that can be done at home for a fraction of the price. The Age-Defying Laser is indicated for treatment of wrinkles around the eyes and smoother skin in the treated area.

I am definitely seeing results. After four weeks, I was not sure, but I thought my skin was more firm and even in tone. After eight weeks, I am definitely noticing significant improvement. I have noticed that my skin is overall much more even in tone. Many of my age spots are gone or have lightened,  fine lines have  all but disappeared, and my deeper lines are shortening and becoming not as deep.

Take a look at my forehead before treatment and now at week eight. My lovely "11" which has a third line running down the middle in the week 1 photo is so improved in the week 8 photo. That third line that was seen running down the middle in the first photo is now gone and the lines seem to be flattening out. Isn't that amazing?

It really has been so easy to make the Age-Defying Laser a part of my nightly skin care routine. As I am noticing more and more results everyday, I truly look forward to my nightly treatments. Carving out the extra 15 minutes it takes for me to complete the entire routine from start to finish (on Level 3) is so simple and so worth it. I want to briefly go over with you, step by step, what I do to demonstrate how easy it is to work the Tria Age-Defying Laser into your nightly skin care routine.

• Step 1: Cleanse Face. It is important to properly remove all makeup, dirt, oil and any skin care products from the face prior to treatment so the laser can properly penetrate the skin. I cleanse my skin with the Tria Age-Defying Skincare Priming Cleanser. This does a nice job of removing everything from my skin quickly and effectively. I thoroughly dry my face before I move on to using the laser. Time: 3 Minutes
  
• Step 2: Treat with the Age-Defying Laser. I am now on Level 3, which treats each zone of the face (there are four) for 2 1/2 minutes. When treating with the laser, hold the laser against the skin making contact (which you are sure of as you will see the purple light glow and hear the fan turn on). Constantly move the wand over that zone of the face until you hear a beep, then move to the next zone. You will hear one beep when you are finished with zone 1, two beeps when finished with zone 2, etc. The Age-Defying Laser will turn off when you have completed zone 4. I find it best to be looking in the mirror when doing the treatment. Don't be afraid to hold the laser at any angle, horizontally or vertically; it will work in either direction as long as it is making contact with the skin. Do make sure that you move the device perpendicular to the treatment tip.

Some areas are tricky to make contact with, especially the curves of face like the chin and the forehead, but you will quickly learn how to hold the device to make contact. Time: 10 Minutes

• Step 3: Finishing Serum It is extremely important to treat skin delicately after treatment, and proper care is key. Apply a high-quality serum such as the Tria Age-Defying Skin Care Finishing Serum over the skin immediately after completing the laser treatment. I apply a very generous amount of serum, usually 3-4 pumps as I am very dry from treating and I get very red after treating. My skin looks and feels like I have a mild sunburn following the Age-Defying Laser treatments, but that is to be expected. The Finishing Serum is almost calming and is very nourishing to the skin. I often repeat this before I go to bed. Time: 2 Minutes.
