YSL's Opium was my first high end designer fragrance. It is an iconic perfume and I can always pick up the scent when even a passer-by is wearing it. Opium is Yves Saint Laurent's masterpiece.

The Eau de parfum and Eau de toilette open on a wave of mandarin and bergamot, revealing an opulent brew of jasmine enlivened by spicy carnation. These are warmed by a carnal and thrilling wake fevered by vanilla, amber and patchouli. Sensual in the extreme, the Eau de parfum is enriched with lily of the valley, Sambac jasmine absolute and myrrh. On the skin, the fusion is spellbinding.
