INSPIRATION
When I was first shown the dress in a picture, the emotions were elegant, sexy, effortless, glamorous...almost as if a movie star from classic Hollywood reappeared in the present time after she stopped at the beach for a bit. I wanted the finished look to represent the emotions and Jennifer’s well known effortless, sun-kissed yet classic and sexy look.
FACE
I wanted to focus on Jennifer’s skin, and to do some highlighting and shading because that always reminds me of old Hollywood. I did all the highlighting with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I started by applying CHANEL Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 70 Beige with a foundation brush to frame her face and neck, and to define her cheeks. Next, I took CHANEL Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 40 Beige and blended all over the face, and then added a very light coat to the eyelids. Using a smaller brush, I highlighted key areas of the face (such as the tops of the cheekbones and the bridge of the nose) with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 22 Beige Rosé. For blush, I started building color with CHANEL Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Destiny, then added CHANEL Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Intonation to the apples of the cheeks. After that, I dusted on a bit of CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour in N°70 for a hint of bronze.
EYES
I used two eye compacts: CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Mademoiselle and Tissé Vendôme. From CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Mademoiselle, I mixed the medium-brown tones together and applied them to her lid. I added the darker tone to the eye crease and outer corners, emphasizing the natural shape of her eye. Then using CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Vendôme, I brushed the darker brown shadow into the crease and kept blending upward. I finished with a hint of the highlighting shade from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Mademoiselle underneath the brow at the highest point. I lined Jennifer’s upper lashline with CHANEL Écriture de Chanel Eyeliner Pen in Noir, using a small, angular brush and adding intensity at the outer corners. After curling her lashes, I added CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir, first using a flat brush and applying right into the lashline, and then applying several coats with the mascara brush.
LIPS
After lining with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Mordoré-Nude, I applied two coats of CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Deauville. I topped that with gloss, CHANEL Glossimer in Sweet Beige.
