Happy October!

Can you believe that it is officially fall and October already? I cannot! Where does the time go? If you know, please let me know because this year has seem to fly by for me and I would love for it to slow don. If just a bit.

If you do not know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I was graciously invited to attend a BCA campaign kick-off at the Estee Lauder offices a few weeks ago, and I have been so inspired by it all. Evelyn H. Lauder is the founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and it was an honor to hear her speak from the heart about her efforts. This is a campaign that I truly support, and I hope you do to.

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $250 million to support clinical and translational research at medical institutions across the globe conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime. BCRF support for promising yet untried ideas is a crucial component of this research. New grants are announced in October each year. On October 28th, 2009, BCRF announces grants of nearly $29 million to 171 scientists from top universities and academic medical centers across the globe.

Important to me is the fact that a minimum of 85% off all of the funds raised through BCRFcure.org goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs.

Throughout this month, be on the lookout for my "Pink Product" highlights. All of the products I will highlight will benefit a breast cancer charity in same way or another.

I am also excited to share with you a new feature on Beautiful Makeup Search. Over in the left-hand sidebar, you will notice a Beauty Event Calendar. Each month, I will be adding in the different beauty events I hear about, and this will keep you in the know. Just click on the month to see what events are coming up. For instance, in October, there is the Clinique Fresh Faces tour and the Philosophy Supernatural Events listed, plus a few others. Make sure to check it out often, as you never know when a great event might just be headed your way.
