Just when I think I can't be impressed with yet another foundation, a new one comes along that pretty much blows my expectations and yes, my socks off. I'm looking at you bareMinerals and I'm talking about the just launched BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation.
BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation is an extremely long wearing liquid foundation that contains skin care ingredients and it claims to help improve skin as you wear it. I'm not overly concerned with the skin care benefits of my foundation; I am more concerned with coverage, how it looks and wears.
BAREPRO Liquid Foundation is a very nice creamy liquid foundation that blends nicely over my skin; it blends well. I have tested it with the bareMinerals Luxe Performance Brush and a beautyblender. Both result in medium coverage, but I feel I get a little more coverage and a smoother, more blurred look and finish when I use the beautyblender sponge to apply. I think I use more foundation when I use the sponge versus the brush, but I like the end result more with this method.
The overall finish is a natural matte finish; not too matte, yet there is no glow, luminosity, shimmer or shine to my face when I wear this. What you see is what you get. Regardless of applying a foundation primer or not, I do not experience any oxidizing of this foundation. BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation truly offers around the clock coverage. My foundation looks just applied at the very end of the day as it does when I first applied it.
BAREPRO Liquid Foundation also contains SPF 20 and comes in 30 shades that match cool, warm and neutral undertones from the very fair to very deep. After trying three shades, I have settled on using the shade Sandalwood.
BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation sells for $34 at bareminerals.com and bareMinerals boutiques as well as Ulta and Sephora.
