Get Your Style Fix: Easy Voluminous Hair Tutorial.

I am one who likes a bit of volume in my hair but I am lazy, especially in the summer. I don't have time for curling or hot rollers - I am strictly a girl who breaks out the blow dryer and big round brush to get my style fix. Now, my hair is fragile and thin; I have colored and highlighted my hair for many years so I use some products to nourish and protect my hair and only use heat on it two to three times a week. I have got my easy voluminous hair routine down to just a few steps and products so it lasts a few days. Here is an easy voluminous hair tutorial so you can get your style fix too.

There are just a few products in my easy voluminous hair tutorial, but the key product to my look is Nexxus Mousse Plus. The alcohol-free formula in this volumizing foam blends instantly into my hair, giving it a smooth, natural feel. I like that it doesn't buildup or flake and gives my hair the volume I crave. It's super lightweight so it doesn't weigh hair down and as it adds in lot's of volume and tons of shine. My hair is really fine and this gives me control and helps retain curl. I only need a large egg size amount for my shoulder length hair.

To get easy voluminous hair, I start by using TRESemmé 24-Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner in the shower. Made with the brands Volume Control Complex and silk proteins, my hair is full with body and never falls flat during the day.

Next, I spray TRESemmé Thermal Heat Tamer Hair Spray over my towel dried hair and comb through. This essential step guards against heat damage (which I do a lot) and helps to keep hair shiny and super soft. It also helps hair hold onto its shape while style, as it gives it a bit of texture.

TIP: Spritz on dry hair before curling or straightening with a curling or flat iron. I don't use either of these tools in my everyday easy voluminous hair routine, but this is a vital step that I thought important to mention.

Now for the good stuff, I apply my key product, the Nexxus Mousse Plus that I mentioned above. Again, I only need about a large egg size for my shoulder length hair. You would obviously need a bit less for shorter hair and a bit more for longer hair. Evenly distribute it through hair and rub it through with fingers.

I then blow dry my hair. I start by flipping my head over and drying it from the underneath until it is about 50% dry. I then flip my head back over upright. I take small sections with a large round brush, wrap the section around the brush and dry each section giving it a shot of cool air once dry for about ten seconds to lock inthe volume. I hold the blow dryer high above my head and dry straight down onto the hair to seal in the cuticle and smooth the hair. You can see how it's done in the photos below.

I then usually just brush through and smooth out my hair with my fingers and spray into place with a brushable hairspray. I really like Nexxus Comb Thru Touchable Hold Finishing Mist. This hairspray allows hair to retain volume and move a bit to look natural, yet it holds and locks style into place.
