Summer 2014: Lancôme French Riviera Color Collection.
/The French Riviera; sophisticated, brilliant blue water, sparkling sandy beaches strewn with gold. Lancôme’s new French Riviera summer color collection reflects that lifestyle and is actually inspired by the alluring Cote d’Azur, which is made up of modern marine blues just like the ocean for an effortless je ne sais qois. Coudn't you just go to the south of France right now?
Start your Summer look with the Color Design 6-Pan-Palette ($51) in Azure Chic and add accents with Le Stylo Waterproof ($27 each) in Marine Chic and Golden Riviera for the perfect blend of summer shades. Extend your lashes with Lancôme’s classic mascara, Définicils ($27.50) but make sure it's the waterproof version so it lasts through all your summer fun.
Achieve the perfect summer glow with the Star Bronzer Palette ($43) which includes a bronzer, blush and highlighter, or sweep the Magic Bronzing Brush ($35) all over face, neck and décolletage for a beautiful bronze everywhere.
Apply Baume in Love ($26) for a lasting soft stain of color with comfort and moisture in Very Cherry, Berry Crush, O’Honey, or Peche Pout.
Finally, finish off your look with bold color and high shine for nails. To outstand the sand in your toes in just one stroke, use Vernis in Love ($15) in new shades Nuit D’Azur, Marine Chic, and Golden Riviera.
For me, it is all about bronzer, of course, and I am loving both the Star Bronzer Palette and the Magic Bronzing Brush. When I am doing an everyday makeup, I have been opting for the Magic Bronzing Brush and simply sweeping the all over color just gently on my cheeks and dabbing a bit on my chin, nose and forehead - you know, where the sun might hit you for the most natural look. For a more made up look, I pull out the Star Bronzer Palette. This palette is gorgeous with a highlighter, bronzer and blush. They can each be used andseparately or layered and used as contour, blush (just on the apples of the cheeks) and highlighter on tops of the cheekbones. I sometimes take a large fluffy brush and run it all over the palette so the shades blend together and just sweep over my cheeks too; the effect is beautiful soft peachy bronze.
I also got to try Baume in Love and it was my first time. I received Péche Pout, which is a very nude peach shade, barely visible on the lips. It is really perfect for summer and it looks nice and glossy with my faux tan. It is very hydrating and feels wonderfully balmy on my lips.
Of course, like I said above, Définicils is a classic mascara and I really like how it thickens and lengthens lashes with ease. This is the first time that I used the Waterproof version and it lasts all day with no flaking or smudging and it doesn't budge through my allergies or eye drops so it definitely holds up to its waterproof claims. I like that my lashes did not feel overly stiff or brittle like many waterproof mascaras can feel. An oil based eye makeup remover does the trick of fast removal.
