Inspiration:
"Sometimes the stars just align (pun intended) and tonight with nominee Evan Rachel Wood, her look came together so organically. Of course with a Gucci Premiere gown such as hers, it was all about the dress so we wanted to keep the make up clean and soft.

When I saw the new NARS Spring collection, it was as if the products were created specifically for this look!  We had so much fun getting ready for the big day. We rocked out to some of our favorite tunes (Lykke Li), ate some yummy snacks (cookies of course) and most importantly laughed!
"

The Look:

Paramaribo Duo Eyeshadow (new for Spring 2012) was the exact gilded gold and bronze we wanted to create a soft metallic eye that would pick up the accent of the feathers.  Then we used Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara on the lashes to finish the eye (ok maybe more than one coat!).

To keep the rest of the face feminine, the new NARS Gaiety Blush (new for Spring 2012) was amazing for a sheer flush of pink on the cheek along with a swipe of good-old standby NARS Angelika Blush to add a bit of shimmer.

NARS Sex Machine Velvet Matte Lip Pencil topped off with Como Larger Than Life Lip Gloss gave Evan a soft mauve pink lip to complete the look.

Beauty Inspiration:
"Evan's Gucci gown was a show stopping moment waiting to happen on Sunday.  To not compete but compliment the overall look we wanted to keep the hair classic Hollywood, of course with her signature modern edge."

Get the Look:
"One week before the awards, I got Evan started on a hair treatment plan: every other day of Rene Furterer Karite Intense Nourishing Oil for pre-shampoo moisture restoration, and Karite Intense Nourishing Mask done after the shampoo. This help illuminate her new creamy blonde hair when on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

The day of the awards, I sprayed Phyto Volume Actif on wet hair from roots to ends.  I first blew dry the hair in the direction I wanted the style using my hands working in the product to build a thick, movable texture. For a little more hold, I cocktailed the Phyto spray with Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse applied to the entire head, this time using a 1/2" bristle round brush. Using a 3/4" curling iron, I wrapped medium size sections on the top of the head to set in the volume with a little bend on the ends. This helps to look in the texture and fullness added by the products.

I gently brushed back the top and molded the shape, connecting it to the sides and back and keeping the volume, especially in the front. To modernize with Evan's style, I used Davines Glossy Modeling Putty to rake back the sides with my fingers and polish up the back. I pinched horizontal sections with the Putty to show texture in Evan's blonde hair and to tighten the sides for a goddess like structure.  When the style was complete, I lightly sprayed it with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray."

Get the Look: Zooey Deschanel at the 2012 Golden Globes.

High-fashion and high-glam go hand in hand at the Golden Globes, as indie darling Zooey Deschanel proves in her stunning red carpet look, created by celebrity makeup artist Jorjee Douglass. With Rimmel London’s long-wearing, richly-pigmented formulas, you can look flawless while you strike a pose, just like Zooey.

Zooey just stepped onto the red carpet with a luminous, effortlessly chic look. Jorjee reveals how you can get the look at home, using Rimmel London’s makeup must-haves.

“Zooey is one of my favorite clients because she loves to have fun with her makeup, hair and fashion,” says Jorjee. “We brought out the big guns tonight for a stunning red carpet look unlike any other.”

“I was inspired by Emma Peel from the 1960’s British TV show The Avengers,” says Jorjee. “I wanted Zooey’s beautiful skin to glow so I started with Rimmel London’s Fix & Perfect Pro Primer which is a must-do step to hydrate and mattify the skin.”

Next, Jorjee used Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory for smooth coverage that will last. She then used Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer in Light and Fair under the eyes and to cover any imperfections.

“I kept the mod inspiration on the eyes, creating a cat eye shape. I used Rimmel London’s Glam’Eyes Professional Liquid Liner on the top of the lid and a feathered line on the bottom. I topped the liner with RimmelLondon Glam’Eyes HD Quad Eyeshadow in Black Cab and English Rose for  a soft smokey eye. Then I loaded up her lashes with Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara to make her long lashes even longer.”

“I played up Zooey’s amazing eyes so I wanted to keep the rest of her look neutral, highlighting her cheeks and adding a touch of color to her lips,” says Jorjee. She used Rimmel London Lasting Finish Blendable Blush & Highlighter in Autumn Blush on her cheeks and Rimmel London Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick in Nude Pink on her lips.

Get the Look: Claire Danes at the 2012 Golden Globes.

Claire Danes' hair was styled by Peter Butler (Artists by Timothy Priano) for Wella Professionals for her look at tonight's Golden Globe Awards. Her makeup was done with Laura Mercier Cosmetics.

Matin Maulawizada, Global Artistry Director and Brand Ambassador for Laura Mercier, explains how he created the nominee’s red carpet look – a modern take on classic
Old Hollywood Glamour.

Face:
•      To ensure she looked flawless throughout the evening - from her early afternoon red carpet arrival to post-show after-parties, Matin prepped Claire’s face using the iconic Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30.
•      Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation in Sunny Beige, $50, evened out her skin tone.
•      Matin then lightly applied Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic, $38, to Claire’s cheekbones to enhance her natural glow.
•      Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC3, $28, brightened darker tones under Claire’s eyes.
•      The look was set with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent, $34, a universal loose powder that creates a soft-focus effect on-camera.

Lips:
•      Claire’s vibrant, statement-making red lips were created with several layers of Laura Mercier Crème Lip Colour in Seduction, $22.

Eyes:
•      Matin used Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony, $22, to line Claire’s upper and lower rims, and finished the look with two coats of Laura Mercier Waterproof Mascara, $20.

For the hair, Claire Danes’ chic, modernly messy bun complimented her J. Mendel dress; a frock with a neckline that is very geometric with hard lines requires  soft hair. Peter Butler mentioned that he was envisioning a modern Grace Kelly.

To create this look, Peter Butler blew out Claire’s hair with Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse.  Once completely dry, he curled her hair with a large barrel curling iron for extra volume. Pull the hair back into a high pony and wrap the hair in a tight knot. This look was only secured with TWO hair pins!

Lastly, Peter combed back Claire’s hair with his fingers, coated with Wella Professionals Mirror Polish Shine Serum for a soft sheen and a quick spritz of Wella Professionals Stay Essential hairspray for a hold that will last all night.
