The Disney Aladdin movie is in theatres today, May 24th, and I will be one of the many going to see it over the long weekend. When I heard that there was going to be a live-action remake of this classic, I knew that a makeup collection had to be in the making.
Leave it to MAC Cosmetics to collaborate with Disney to create a magical collection to make all of our wishes come true. The Disney Aladdin Collection by MAC Cosmetics is nothing short of opulent to reflect the magic of the movie.
“Manifest your magic with The Disney Aladdin Collection by M·A·C. Highlighting the
self-determination and confidence of Princess Jasmine, this wish-fulfilling collaboration
features smoky metallic and desert shades that reflect Jasmine’s strong-willed beauty.
Discover a new world of limited-edition colour, transformed in specially designed opulent
packaging inspired by the rich patterns and vibrant hues of Agrabah.”
Everything about this limited edition themed collection speaks to the princess in me. The packaging, colors and prints are spot on. Sure, the palettes are lightweight plastic (it is MAC), but the designs are intricate and I feel it is collector-worthy.
I am really liking the two Powder Blush shades which are more like bronzers and highlighters. Your Wish Is My Command is a deep golden brown in a matte formula that sweeps on like a beautiful deep bronze; Always One Jump Ahead is a soft, lightly shimmered gold highlight type shade.
The Lipstick shades are all beautiful, and mostly rich, very pigmented and matte. It is no surprise that Friend Like Me is going to be my go-to color, though I want a back-up…I am saving an unopened tube (collector!) That pink in Whole New World has got to be what Jasmine is wearing and if I can pull it off, I will be.
I am also really liking all of the Lipglass shades in the collection, and the two that I received are magical. If you like lipgloss with a lot of pearl and shimmer, you will be safe with any of the choices that you can find.
I don’t have the Princess Jasmine Eye Shadow X 9 Palette, and that is sold out online. If I do find it, I will be buying it as it looks gorgeous in neutral tones.
The collection would not be complete without the Technakohl Liner in Graphblack. I have never tried the Crystal Glaze product, so I cannot honestly speak to that. I could do without the Rose Pigment, but for hard core color and makeup lovers, it most definitely has its place in the collection.
The Disney Aladdin Collection by MAC Cosmetics went on sale last week and items are already sold out on the maccosmetics.com website. I just received some items from the collection and did my best to get all the photos and information up so you could make purchasing decisions. The products are also for sale at select locations like Nordstrom and Ulta Beauty.
