While your makeup bag is probably filled with your favorite makeup products year round, summer calls for a few special items. The hot weather can be demanding, and your makeup needs to withstand all of the elements — the heat, humidity and longer days. Here are the top makeup items you need in your makeup bag this summer.
1. Bobbi Brown Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Protective Face Base
This hydrating face primer smooths skin, prepping it for the rest of makeup while including broad spectrum SPF 50. It contains skin-loving ingredients including caffeine to wake up tired skin.

This CC cream is the ultimate, and it is SO amazing. I use the regular version year round but recently converted to the illuminating version for summer. 4. Clinique Sun-Kissed Face Gelee
This face gel is a complexion enhancer that leaves skin with a beautiful all-over bronzed glow. It seems to blur imperfections as it adds a bit of bronze to the skin. Sometimes I use it all over, on its own; sometimes I mix it in with my CC cream, and sometimes I apply it with my fingertips just to the apples of my cheeks and then blend it outward for a natural looking sun-kissed radiance.
5. Urban Decay Beached Bronzer
Bronzer is a must, and this is the one I've been using most often so far this year. Beach Bronzer is a beautiful silky powder bronzer that simply warms up the skin. I apply it right where the sun would hit the face (cheeks, the tip of nose, forehead and chin). It comes in two shades: Sun-Kissed for fair skin or Bronzed for darker skin tones. This bronzer leaves the most perfect bronzed glow that radiates the skin with the look of the real sun.
6. Le Volume de CHANEL Waterproof Mascara
Volume de CHANEL delivers lots of volume in a waterproof formula using a single stroke. I really like how lush lashes look when using this formula that lasts all day long.
7. Natural Eye Palette

9. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
This loose setting powder is one of the few that I can use and for summer, it is the only one I depend on. It absorbs oil, blurs away imperfections and provides a soft, matte finish to the skin. I swear it keeps makeup looking fresher longer too.
10. Nude Lipstick/Lipgloss
The nude lipstick trend is not going away and you are going to need one great shade to get you through the summer. I could stock an entire makeup bag with nude lipsticks and glosses, but I have a few new favorites: tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Hella, Tom Ford Moisturecore Lip Color in Carriacou and MAC Huggable Lipcolour in Touché.
